Dream Letters

I had a dream she wrote me letters, and in time she did reply,
To all my thoughts and answers,
This wasn't in my mind.

No lost or wishful thinking,
She really felt and cared,
Until I woke and realised
The letters just weren't there.

Once awake I sent her letters, as if it were a dare;
In waking time with great design,
To make real life compare.

Now as I sit alone and wait I can't help but consider,
Perhaps the dream was helping me to make my life less bitter -
"Follow your heart and dreams this time and see to where it leads -
It's been too long since you sang songs of Loves breath through the trees."
