Hey all.

Not sure if this is in the right section, but if you move, can you please PM me the location.

Anyway; I have went through 15 years of hell and I am only 46, and the older I get the worse and worse its getting, and the I have asked so many doctors in others attachment areas to put a bold warning, black list not to give me anything Physically addictive unless its for life save measures..

I have moved 5 times since this warning I bellive, and seems Cardiff and the other area in wales dont talk to each other, or cant be bothered to tell them what I ask, even though it has effected my relationsip with my 2 kids ex, and then again with my most recent ex.

It all started when I damaged 3 discs in my neck which caused severe pain in the side of my neck and in my shoulder blade and down my arm.

I have never done anything more than do a couple lines when I was 20, well before moving to the UK, and the first doctor I seen, whilst nice, descided to put me on 30/500 Codiene, and 2mg Diaz,, Well all of a sudden the 30mg of codeine stopped working and within a week the 2mg diaz stopped shorlty before... So what does he do.. Put me on Pure Codeine and 5mg of diaz and so and and so forth..

I didn't mind the Codeine as I knew it could be tapered down as was on it in Canada when I had major jaw surgery and was in pain for 3 months, so went from 30 - 15 then 5 and then had no issues. But once I relaised how quick the DIaz wore off and nothing else was advised I asked to go back down from 20 - 15 - 5 then 2 each week.

I have refuse to take any benzo again. but after mri, pain managment and about 50 differnet specialists, they all said, live with pain or do the risky surgey and it was only 50/50 and very risky and had to be a way.. So though I would deal with the pain..

Anyway, I had bouts of severe pain where I would be off work, not being able to pay my bills,, but lucky enough I had a partner and she was able to help with finances and food.

Well we all know the story from here, Doctors put me on Oxycodone, and Oxycontin, did not like the felling at all, but pregabliin helped for quite a while, and was told it was not addictive (about 10 years ago before it was being abused and being sold on the street.

I have tried cold turkey, but I have seen 2 cousins in Wales die from Heroin and seen what they went through, and this is what it looked like, even though most dont compare the 2.

Anyway as the years went on, I took my codiene tabs then took OTC 12.5mg Codeine a and paracetamol.. Well you guess whats next, I overdosed to the point of phoning a ambulance, but just on the edge, sweats, shakes, insomnia ect.. i would take 50omg x 32 which is 16,000 mg of paracetemol. I have had liver sacns and lucky enough I am ok, but then started chaginng thiings uo as they would start to recoginse me, and asked for 12.5mg and Iburprofen at 200mg x 32 which is 3200mg, lucky my kidneys are ok. I have told the docctors this and put me on a weekly prescription, but no was would they give me 240mg of codiene a day.

So that did not work.. I was taking them in 2 days and again go prescrition shopping and start CWE as I know the Paracetemal would have put me in the hospital, but they didnt care, then though they knew I was severly addicted due to them.

The reason I am writing rhis is, I maaged to get to 450mg of pregabalin, and noticed one day that I took a double dose my accident, and this was truly by accidnet, and all of a sudden my Codiene W/O went away within 30 min and also made me feel amazing, not hiigh that I couldnt drive, just made me feel 20 again.

But now I ma living by muself and no longer have a dual income, it has caught up to me over the past several monts, so much so I hsve not been able to pay any bills. nd have to beg the landlord, whio is a housing accosiation, but they have been great, as long as I am keeping in contact and they increased my rent deom 635 to 675 whisch is not a bad deal for a brand new house, detached.

But I have been left each month of £15.00 for food, and no petrol in that.

To make a long sotry short, I have found that guy that sells those 300mg pregablin and as my codiene is so high, I am taking 1800 mg a day, with no adverse side effects for the past few monts,,

1. I have told previos doctors to stop giving me Codiene, but seems only partial records get transfered as its in a differnt part of wales.

2. My kids have refused to see me until I get myself sorted, even though I have never left them without food, and the meds do not effect my drivng, but can se their point.

3. I have missed 3 months of rent, gas and elec and council tax.

I have hit rock bottom,

If I tell my GP all this, will they just canx my presc and tell me to go cold turkey, because if they do I will not get paid and will take about 1.5 months to get back to my normal self again and I cannot afford this. Work are aware, expect me buying Extra Pregabs from a friend.

Anyone know what the GP stance is on this as GDAS which is the Drug and Alcohol clinic have refused to take my case as its a prescription issue, they only deal with Crack and heroine ect.. , and docs should have been keeping in contact, especially with the Pregab and Codeine.

Please help as I am 1 month away from being homeless.

I dont understand why they cant give me a patch that lasts a week for codeine, and reduce the pregabs slowly.

I cannot have a weekly prescription as due to the amount I take it will be gone in a couple days.

Both my cousins in Newport who had long addictions with Heroine, Diaz and Crack get help, but heard NI payers dont, and GDAS have refused help.

I am not an addictive person, I am only doing this as if I dont work I will be homeless and broke

Docs appointment tomorrow and withdrawing from pregab, I am on 1800 mg a day, but docs can only give 600mg legally, which even if they do increase my pregab from 450mg a day to 600mg, I will be in pain but not as bad as cold turkey.

But have CWE codeine, should I tell them or tell them i have been eating 8 x 12.5mg Solpadine max 3 times a day which is 4000mg of paracetamol per dose, which is a serious amount, I am surprised my liver is not destroyed .

But they said even though I am on 720mg of codeine they will only give me 60mg x 4 times a day which is 240, they legally cannot give me anymore, which makes me wonder why my previous docs kept increasing .

I personally think i should say I am eating the 4000mg of paracetemol a day as they would consider that urgent, and CWE is not exactly legal and would show I am looking at drug sites

Doctors are famous for NOT writing scripts, you'll have to withdrawal like everyone else.

Don't play with opiates and benzo's if you can't hack the other side of it.

The first rule of Opiate Club is don't cry about the withdrawal and this "I'm in Hell, I'm so low......" Self-pity gibberish won't get you any sympathy here.

You made your bed now you are gonna sleep in it.

Dont need to be such a rude reply as they are maybe willing to help depending on what I say... I am asking for help about a question, not about withdrawing, and they cannot take me off 1800mg of pregab as they can cause seizures, it says in the leaflet, so they will have to give me a daily script of at least 600mg

Dude I was not told anything 12 years ago about the opioids and was told the pregabalin was not addictive, when I realised I was addicted to codeine about 5 years later, was just told they needed to lower the dose slowly if I came off them as they could cause seizures.

The first doctor I seen was handing our benzos as they stopped working, until i got to around 20mg

Yes its my fault for saying the pills stopped working, but any responsible doctor which was my previous doctor would have taken me off them and lowered the dose as they would have realised I was addicted instead of increasing the codeine to 480mg a day.

I have only been CWE to try reduce the dose slowly as I cannot take enough Solpadine max without killing myself.

All I am asking is should i say I have been CWE and be honest or take the Solpadine max to get me by?

I think they are willing to help, but they will ask how I have been getting codeine and pregab which I got from a friend, which is illegal, anyway. but it was either that or go off work, not get paid and lose my house as I have missed 2 payments already.

I am in a desperate state, I did not need that reply.

I'm 43, been Heroin dependent over 20 years, been homeless and dope sick more times than you've changed your socks kid.

Am I being harsh here OR am I just telling the Raw Truth? These cry-baby addicts make me wanna puke. Any man who gets into Opiates knows what they are doing.

These Woke generation junkies have no backbone and can't suck up the days they are sick. They FEAR withdrawal like Ebola, I kinda accept I'm going to be sick at some point and just deal with it.

When you done 48 hours in a Police cell then dragged to Court so dope sick and have to face the Judge it makes you VERY fucking realistic to the Reality of drug addiction.

Am I wrong here?

They can and they will. Any further medication will be a one off, there will be no repeats. In all likelihood, your prescription will be cancelled and you'll be referred (or most likely, told to self refer, saves the NHS a few pennies) to an addiction treatment centre.

Your best option, is to be honest with the GP, explain everything as clearly as you can, and I reiterate, be brutally honest. I'd also say going forward is going to be difficult for you, so time to put on your big boy pants and strap in. Firstly, get a handle on your finances. Stop buying pills and potions and pay you rent.

If you think your life is hard now, you'll regret saying that when you haven't the safety of a roof over your head. Withdrawing from anything is hard, and although it's hard, it's not rocket science, you've just gotta power through it. Easy for me to say sat here in my ivory tower, but just keep reminding yourself, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I have been referred already to a drug place who deal with reduction, but the docs are going to have to give me a daily script until then.

I have an appointment with the head of the surgery at 3:30. Ill let you know how I get on, and appreciate your kind honesty.

Yeah ill bet. Thankfully never found myself in that position like.
Went 3 days without methadone and that hurt but was manageable. I was first in the line at0 the pharmacy tho.
