Do you trust the Dark Side? -- Druglink, March / April 2013

Yeah the only person who offered to go with me was still quite a heavy user at the time and I knew I'd just end up relapsing...it helped me not to be around other addicts / people currently going through what I was trying to escape, but I think that was just what worked for me best at the time. Never say never.

Psychedelics and meditation also works a treat.

No, I would never say never. I am off to live in a Buddhist community for six months to break all my bad habits, its reached that point. Should be lovely though!

Buddhist resorts are great also - thanks for reminding me.
I used to go to one in south western australia that taught buddhist mindfulness - which i think is invaluable to addiction recovery.
I would attend meditation sessions in the mornings, then go for 15km hikes through the forest for the rest of the day.
The mindfulness of the session carried on through my solitary hikes.
Really a great option too, if you have the opportunity for such a thing.
