Dmt extraction

Is it easy to do and are all the ingredients legal to get in the uk ? Tia
 
It's easy to do, even with MHRB, even though you have to de-fat it a couple of times as you stir it. You can get everything you need online, including MHRB. Once you extract it once, you'll never buy it again. I extracted so much of it I am sure I will never use all of it. I have even tried to give some to various people and they were like, "nope"...lol

I'm just waiting on the last couple items now. But I've 2 questions
8oz jam jar- will it be ok to mix caustic in ? And I add a little at a time and stir ?
Once it cools and I add it to my mhrb am I right in thinking swirl it all together rather then shaking , tia

I've attempted to blast several strangers off with similar responses.
Not many people can handle DMT... Of any quality.
 
Yep, folks’d rather look at their phones than see into another dimension. I have been riding this planet without a cell phone and still don’t need it. I can imagine tripping with it going off with notifications and calls and texts would be counter-tripuctive.

Please do not discuss where you got your rootbark from, we don't allow sourcing.

Also you don't have to de-fat with MHRB, at least if you do straight to base.
 
2% yield isn’t normal but is real. Without saying the vendor again, was it Brazilian or Mexican?

I’ve “heard” of 2% yields from both Mimosa hostilis and Acacia confusa. The highest from Chaliponga has been about .5%. Phalaris is dismal.

Glass or HDPE plastic are best, don't re-use glass vessels for extraction too often though as hot lye water will slowly etch the surface of the glass away.

I find doing the extraction at elevated temperature (30-40C water bath) also helps improve phase seperation and yield. Be patient and mix the solvent thoroughly but not too vigorously or you will form an emulsion.

Last time I did a run of Brazilian bark it yielded about 1.5%.
 
I didn't realize you can wear away the glass. Does that mean it will break at some point? It doesn't appear to have any damage but I've used it a good number of times (a gallon wine jug).
 
It really depends on a couple factors: the type of glass (borosilicate is much more resistant than soda glass), the concentration of alkali, surface area, the temperature, and exposure time. As I understand it, erosion of glass is mostly a concern if you are working with boiling solutions of concentrated lye.

The reaction is 2NaOH + SiO2 -> Na2SiO3 + H2O.

You should be able to tell for certain if your glass is getting etched away as it will slowly develop a "frosted" look. I would expect a solid wine jug to be capable of a dozen or more extractions, easily. I would predict that the large amount of organic material in the aqueous phase of the extraction would lower the solubility of any silicate salt formed & thereby slow the reaction down.

Just something to be aware of. I have had a flask crack due to a combination of rough handling, boiling alkali, and scraping of a stirbar against it.
 
That's why I use calcium hydroxide.... Sodium carbonate is supposed to be an option as well.

Those pictures are interesting, but what's up with it being so impure? Is that supposed to be full spectrum or something? Why not do a baking soda wash and re-x to grow big crystals?
 
A slight yellow coloration is not neccesarily indicative of impurities. Colored material can sometimes produce significant colorations at suprisingly low concentrations. The size of the crystals and shape suggest that it's actually good purity DMT. I notice that the coloration is stronger if the bark is aged - fresh bark produces cleaner DMT crystals.

I'd actually reccomend a treatment with decolotizing charcoal in an attempt to, er, decolorize ir :)
