DHC question

I know Codeine has to be converted to morphine by the liver to work, but how does DHC work?

I've googled and see they're many conflicting answers on whether codeine or DHC is stronger. Would it be okay to mix them?

I'm shooting from the hip here, but I'm pretty sure that I'm right. Codeine -> Morphine; Dihydrocodeine -> Dihydromorphine with Dihydrocodeine and it's stated metabolite being around 1.5x more potent than Codeine and its stated metabolite. Differing levels of metabolic efficiency from person to person effect how strong the end-result effects of both Codeine/DHC will be.

Correct me if I'm wrong someone.

I don't think you would get much benefit from mixing them, the stronger one would give the majority of the effect. Neither of them get metabolized more than 10-15% by most people. DHC being a few times more potent, I think it would more akin to hydrocodone than codeine meaning that the main effect is from the parent drug itself, very little from the metabolite even though it is more active than the parent.
