Cracking pipe

Hi what's the best way to stop the melting process I currently use a damp cloth which is normally room temperature but my pipes keep on cracking am on my 5th pipe

I usually use a wet paper towel, start with warm water and I'll wave it in the wind if it gets to hot. Or hold your pipe up in front of a fan, that works to. Maybe your buying thin pipes.

I may be wrong, but I believe torching your pipe then attempting to rapidly cool it with water or a fan will just cause more thermal shock and more broken pipes. The issue is more likely cheap glass or maybe too much heat in a concentrated area. Try spreading out the heat more evenly and let your pipe cool slowly by putting it in soft, room temp, insulating material.
