Hy!

Just a quick question on pharmacology. I've been drinking about one and a half quarters of red wine all day and intent to take some codeine a few hours from now. I know that tannines pretty much nullify codeine's effects. My question is how long I should wait before ingesting the codeine to avoid any tannin interaction. What is the usual half-life of tannin as found in red wine? Is it enough for my stomach to be empty of tannin?

No replies? No one has any idea of what I'm talking about or what?

Well, if someone where to stumble upon this thread years from now, he should know that 6-7 hours is enough time to let pass before ingesting codeine or other methyl-morphinanas if you don't want it to interact with tannin - as found in 1,5 liters (1 liter is roughly a quarter) of red wine.
