Cleaning wood dugout one hitter box

I found a old wood dugout box but its got like something black all over the walls of it looks like resin almost n it got some weed stuck in the cracks. So i was wondering how would i go about cleaning it? Only thing i could think of it getting something sharp n scraping the walls down a lil bit. Any ideas would be appericated

I used to scrape mine all the time lol thats the best i could come up with for getting it out. I would get the weed out of the cracks then heat a small knife just a little not too hot it seemed to make it a little easier to scrape the resin out

Just scrape it with a paperclip, small knife, or sandpaper. Rubbing alcohol would get rid of the resin but might warp the wood.

Yeah i just scraped it down like a 10th of a inch.. Like new. I just want it to use for tobacco since i quit smoking and didnt want my hits tasting like pot. Thanks though guys.
