CBD alkyl side-chain extension

Some analogs of THC are much more potent than it. Does anyone know if alkyl side-chain elongation of CBD followed by acid cyclization has been tried as an alternative to the procedures for synthesising analogs given here? https://erowid.org/archive/rhodium/chemistry/thc/index.html Alkyl chain elongation isn't trivial and may be too difficult given the reactivity of other parts of the CBD molecule. Thought it an interesting potential avenue though.
