Carfentanil - Heroin, How do you tell the difference?

If you buy an unknown drug the has the effect of heroin, how do you know if it isn't? Maybe it’s Carfentanil. I know you can do a chemical test, like chromatography, but us poor hypes aren't that sophisticated.
Apparently, the smell isn't a good indicator, but I'm not sure about that.

the amount you would need for street doses is so minuscule I doubt there's a way the layman can detect it without advanced machines like a gas chromatograph or something similar. I'm no chemist so maybe I'm wrong, either way if you have any reason to suspect you got carfent toss that shit.

I've never tried any form of fent or heroin so I wouldn't know the difference but I'm sure a veteran addict that is versed in both could tell the difference by effects, assuming it doesn't kill them.

You really can't. There is no way and that's a final answer on the subject unfortunately. The only way you could even remotely deduce what you have is by having it tested professionally. Closed
