Can saliva breakdown MDMA?

Do the enzymes in saliva break down mdma?
I read a comment on a string about MDMA saying that their preferred ROA is to break them down and take them sublingually for a little then swallowing with water. Won't the saliva break down some of the MDMA before it is swallowed?

I suppose it might be possible, but saliva is certainly not as aggressive as the free hydrochloric acid in your stomach so I think that the loss is minimal.
If you want to absorb as much as possible I suggest plugging.

no. the enzymes in your saliva break down starch, lipids present in food or the polysaccharides that make up bacertial well walls. but you'd need the enzymes only present in your liver to break down mdma.

btw, the hcl in your stomach is also not a problem for mdma. it's a relatively stable molecule. the reason for plugging being more effective is that not all of the mdma will have to pass by the liver (which does possess the enzymes that can break down mdma) before it reaches the bloodstream.
