Im feeling a bit restless because of to much codeine I think my gran 's got these amitriptyline tablets 10 mg each has anyone any experience with these are they good I usually take promethazine but I have none unfortunately :(

No problem - they are often prescribed together.

I quite like the sedative effects of amitriptyline myself, you can get a right old nod off them in combination with opiates and/or weed.

I don't think there is a problem taking them together. Just make sure you'r not makin granny short on meds coz they are antidepressants/nerve pain meds. Wouldn't want her to run out. I take Venlafaxine with opioids daily. Venlafaxine is like amitriptyline with less side effects and it's an snri whereas amitriptyline is a tricyclic.

Ami should potentiate a bit but yes, safe, it's often prescribed with opiates as said. I don't find the sedation worth the potentiation, but if you like sedation you should enjoy the combo.
