Hey guys, did a quick search and didn't really come across a thread for this specific reason or so on. So i just basically started this thread for every one that wants to post some bud pics while still growing or even after harvest. But more focused on growing plants. I took a few pics of my current grow and took them at a better quality so hopefully they are more enjoyable if you know what i mean

How cold do your nights get these days? I used to force purple colors using cold temps. Big purple donkey dicks.

@ White_Rose . . . Yeah bud im Really looking forward to my landrace strains (own continent landrace strains) plus also looking forward to my afghani skunk thats turning so purple, first time i have had a plant do that all naturally.

@Wolfgang . . . Nights aren't that cold, still walking around in a vest and shorts. Never knew the cold had any effect on the color of a plants. Weird tho as only one plant out of the nine plants turned or started showing purple colors. The monkey paws has a very distinctive lemony smell. But think they behind about a week or two from the rest. Just waiting on my magnifying glass (lumen lense for cell phone) so i can check out the trichomes on my plants and see the progress..

Anyhow thats the recap of my plants so far but a lot more to come.. watch this space.

Genetics play a bigger role in color so I'm sure that's what you are seeing, but it's possible to force purple colors (or more purple than already exist) using cold(er) temps.

It's just a cheap trick if you prefer that color, now you know. Can't wait to see more!

Yea the cold temperatures thing does somewhat relate to genetics. Certain strains will show more purple coloration as temps near freezing at night.

Even genetics that won’t purple can get a slight purpling with this but it’s more of a dark greenish purple. Once the cannabis dries this turns almost like a dark green almost black color.

Living in northern states as a kid our plants would have this happen often because our grow period is so short that your trying your best to finish em off before it gets too cold.

Also that plant purpling at the tips looks really good, is that strain supposed to purple on the tips like that?

@ G_Chem I honestly never knew that temperatures played a part in the coloring of a plant. I mean all my outside plants are growing in the some environment and conditions yet only one decided to go the purple root so I'm thinking its gotta do more with the strain then the coldness of the weather. But you must admit it looks sick.

Another two weeks or so and i will give another update on the plants.

Looking forward to the grow and harvest. One thing i have noticed my buds are very airy and not as condensed as i want them to be. But this is my first outdoor grow. so still a lot of trial and error and a lot to learn

any input or advice will be appreciated.

here is some pics of my last monkey paw bud i have left. my best bud i have currently apart from my afghani skunk but that is more for night time use but this monkey paw has been a great daytime smoke. but without any further delay here are some pics

this was my first monkey paw grow but it turned out awesome. Plus i was very impressed with my afghani skunk plant that harvested over 250g. The monkey paw only harveseted about 70-80g but still very happy. As for the swazi gold plants i had harvested about 200g odd too in total and my transkei gold plants harvested about 100g odd. But Swazi is one of the mainstream strains in South Africa and very easy to find, its like a local strain so to speak. It's just the potency that differs from supplier to supplier but guess that comes down to how it was grown but i gave my plants much much love :giggle:
