Wow just got this from netflix. its fucking awesome. i had no idea the movie revolves around heroin. (not a spoiler) Its plot is insane, so many stories going on at once, you dont know what to think

I really like this movie. I remember seeing it about a year or so ago when it was out in theatres. Joseph Gordon Levitt is a great actor, and the way this movie is stylized and the way in which the characters interact takes you to a whole other world. You completely forget they're suburban high school kids in southern CA. Amazing film.

I was really disappointed by this film. The cinematography was nicely done but the story was way too predictable. Plus I really didn't care what happened to any of the characters too much either. They were all pretty boring. Some of it was good, just not good enough imo. If a story is gonna keep you hanging on until the end before it unravels then it has to be a lot better then what this film has to offer. Joseph Gordon Levitt's performance was definitely the best aspect of the movie though. And Emily De Ravin also seemed quite promising here too.

Just watched it. I enjoyed it but it's damn confusing and convoluted. I was so lost halfway through the film that I had to pause it and read half the wikipedia plot summary just to catch up. Then I got lost again after that. I never really have any trouble watching complex films...this isn't even that complex it's just hard to follow! Don't think the terminology helped.

Gorden Levitt killed in this.
The writer of the script did even better.
Reminded me a lot of highschool tbh, including the cinematics.

Gonna rewatch this tonight after I work out. Hope it is as good as I remember it.

Ok so this is not as good as I remembered it. Maybe because after you know how it ends and the whole mystery is solved and everything it is no longer that interesting.

I think the Joseph Gordan Levitt was good though. And I still like how they transfer the setting of neo noir film that would usually be in some sort of police station or private detectives office into a high school setting.

Ya. I doubt I would enjoy it a second time around. The flim noir aspect is what made it. I was scagged out when I saw it, so even better.
