I am tapering off DXM once and for all, been addicted to it and using 3-4 times a week for over 10 years, my highest regular use was 900mg and i've come down to 400, I keep trying to quit altogether but I keep getting these insane flushes of blood in my head or what I've heard referred to as "brain zaps" where I feel tension inside my skull and hear a "whooshing" sound or something, it's hard to explain. Has anyone experienced this and know what it is, and if it is dangerous or not?

High blood pressure most likely, plus, cessation of ssri's and similar antidepressants can give you "brain zaps". Dxm is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, so I'm pretty sure you might have some of that going on. Are you seeing a doctor or doing it on your own?
