so the title almost sums it up. my usual veins, the fat ones in the elbow crooks, have become somewhat damaged -- they were unusable for a while, during which i either stabbed myself silly usually missing, or got someone to hit me, also usually missing [my other veins are just awful]. meanwhile, miraculously, my two old left and right crook veins came back -- but briefly, at least the left one. i can use it, but i dont feel anything off it. and therein lies my quandary.

blood flows into the syringe when i hit either vein, but slowly, not in a flowering crimson plume like before. now it just kind of slides into the barrel, lol. on the left vein, i get the side effects of a hit [taste in my throat, pins and needles etc]. but dont feel any high. on the right one, i get much stronger side effects, like before it got damaged, and i do get a rush, and feel high -- but briefly, usually. my pupils will be tiny, but then two hours later they're big again, or at least bigger than they normally would be after only 2 hours, and im either back in withdrawal already or barely high. dosage makes not much difference. ive found myself banging huge amounts to try to overcome this problem, only to find myself wasting money.

so what the hell is this? the only answer ive found is one post where someone mentioned on the side about "leaky veins" registering, but losing most of the hit because they're damaged. is this what is happening? if so, either way actually, can someone illuminate the medicine/science behind this please? what is happening? i really need to do, since im wasting money on this problem, and need to be able to function.

thanks guys. bye.

p.s. its not the dope. it happens with every type of dope.

Heavily damaged veins become sclerosed, their walls weaken, and they are notorious for causing partially missed shots because of the injected substance leaking out into surrounding tissue at some point along the damaged vein. It's really best not to use them anymore at this point. You will quickly end up frying them permanently and if that's not enough incentive you're wasting dope. Check out the injection megathread in the Other Drugs forum (maybe a mod could add the link please) for great tips on safer, more successful injecting. I'm sure you have some very usable veins you're missing out on.

on your advice, i went back to trying other veins. like i said, in the past been able to hit them at most 5% of the time. this time was no different. i tried 4 different very obvious, fat beefy veins, and i couldn't register. even the hand. or a vein in my wrist which ive been able to shoot both times ive tried it. now it just resulted in a super painful lump being wiggled around by a syringe like a morbid, horrorshow finger-puppet porno.

my usually trusty crook veins will have to do for now. the right one, if i shoot high up -- so far past the elbow that im practically turning the needle 90 degrees sideways --- sometimes gives me a real shot, with the flowery blood register an all, like right now for example :D pin point pupils, nice downward dive postrush high. im very high actually :D cuz i hit way high up the vein. its not like the whole vein is demolished. i would say its mildly sticky. i mean it registers everywheere, yes it's harder than normal and stringy, but not disturbingly so.

not interested in turning my body into a battleground of frustrated futile shots.

there's only one guy i trust to inject me, if i dont see him around, its the crooky. 50/50 chance i get a full buzz, but 100% chance i stave off withdrawals and catch at least a mild buzz.

finally, this is strange because the one time i have an excellent, reliable source, i suddenly have vein problems. when i didnt have bein problems, i had others. perhaps these constant obstacles to being a long-term junky are huge blessings. i honestly, truthfully cannot wait to get back on suboxone. I LOVE SUBOXONE. I felt WONDERFUL on it. it was like being on heroin all the time, but without the pervy rush /craving i.e. ups and downs.

I responded to your PM. Just wondering if you're using new needles reach time or reusing? Dull or barbed needles can cause much more difficulty injecting because of blown veins/unable to puncture larger veins thick walls effectively/causing more damage to antecubital (crook) veins. The more you use the same two veins the faster they are going to wear out. The best practice is fresh needles(smallest gauge needed to do the job), rotating sites, and good hygiene throughout. Try some of the tips I mentioned in the message if interested in attempting other veins. Using higher up on the antecubital veins will work for now but is not very promising for a long-term solution.
