Well the BTH around me can be soft or hard. The hard stuff I throw into my pill grinder and then mix the crushed powder and sticky chunks into water with heart enough just to make the cooker warm while soft prep is the same except it just gets thrown in straight and dissolves while much better while breaking into smaller pieces is a pain.

im used to #3 here in ny but i just came from cali and i was in LA & San Fran and got some #4.. it looked like a small shiny black piece of glass non see throught tho lol hence the name tar.. shit broke down in the water on my spoon but i added heat to the point where the outter rim bubbled and mixed and pressed w the plunger on my rig and threw the cotton in and sucked that up.. then with the residue left in the spoon and cotton let a couple more drops of water from my fingers fall onto the spoon mixed that up as well and sucked what was left throught the cotton.. getting all of the product.. thats the way you should do it as well!
