I'm a chronic pain patient (have been for more than 20 years), and have panic disorder that stretches back even longer, so I have been on the opioids/benzos/alcohol combo for decades. In my experience, you have to treat a problem with a problem. I did the heroin thing for 21 years (while taking my prescribed opioids and benzos), and in my experience, while it's probably better to have the benzos than not, they do very little for my opioid WDs unless mixed with alcohol. I have no idea what your tolerance level, opioid/opiate experience, personal body chemistry, etc...... is like so I can't say for certain. I can tell you what helps for me.
I have to have the Xanax (RXd 8mg daily for years) anyway, so I can take double digit milligram doses and feel nothing. If you don't take benzos regularly they may help. I would try getting some methadone or Suboxone and tapering, even if you have to street buy them. If you can't find methadone and subs, get some opioid prescription pain meds and do a really slow, gentle taper. That is the best way I have found in decades of heavy use of every opioid/opiate under the sun (including lots of heroin and fent/fent analog usage) along with heavy benzo use. Most people would say avoid the opies because they will "set you back" and the benzos just create another problem. IME, Kratom is a health food joke for people with heavy, real deal, long standing opie tolerances. Most disagree, but that has been my experience with even the enhanced red vein strains like Bali/ultra enhanced indo, borneo, etc...... It did jack shit, even with the stuff from highly rated vendors in large doses, using tea, toss and wash, any ROA. My advice is to get opies, benzos, and alcohol, use them in doses you can easily handle (enough to make you comfortable), and taper from there very slowly. I'm anticipating the "you give bad HR advice" comments. Fuck 'em, I'm a very experienced user of these drugs for many years and have been where you are many time. I'm simply telling you what I have found works. Oh, almost forgot, do you need these drugs legit or recreationally? If you need them and can get them RXd, why come off them? I quit heroin years ago but still live on roxys and xannys by necessity (and the nasty chronic pain and panic disorder are lifelong for me. There is no cure, only treatment, affirmed by multiple pain specialist Drs and Psychiatrists). I choose the meds to give me quality of life, better mobility, and calmness from the panic/anxiety that are always present.
