A man with the superhero name Batman bin Suparman has been jailed for 33 months for theft and drug use.
He may be named after the Dark Knight, but instead of being a hero, it appears he chose to become baddie.
The Singapore man acquired a fan base of over 11,000 people after a photo of his ID card with his name, which translates to Batman son of Superman, was uploaded on to Facebook and went viral.
But instead of using the opportunity to spread a good message, he chose to commit crimes instead.
They included stealing his brother’s bank card and using heroin, according to Channel News Asia.
And he was also reportedly caught on CCTV breaking into a snooker hall at the Depot Heights Shopping Centre in Singapore twice, stealing a total of £250.
According to reports, he was arrested in August and pleaded guilty to various charges, before he was sent down on Monday.
The 23-year-old had became a popular online figure, but since the news broke of his fall to the dark side, fans have been expressing their disappointment on the social networking site.
One user quoted the film's quote: "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
But not everyone believes it is even possible, and one fan added: "What jail can possibly hold Batman bin Suparman ?
