I've been getting different varieties of these 2g baked bars for the past six months or so. They're labeled 2g but after weighing an empty vs a fresh one there is a difference of only 1.5 grams. This doesn't surprise me as it's my understanding that these are more of a grey market thing; I mean they're clearly not coming from a store anywhere, right?

Anyways, I believe they claim 87.5% THC, although the newer ones I've gotten don't state the percentages anymore. They are labeled indica, sativa, or hybrid and feel like it to me. When compared to the medical distallates I get from the dispensary, which are 87.5% THC, the baked bars feel very similar to me.

Has anybody else tried these 2g baked bars, and how do you find they compare to other distillates?

They certainly aren't produced from a company in a legal state or Canada. That packaging would actually be illegal in Canada. S'true. Can't appeal to kids. I can't identify it, but do have some questions.

-Is there a company listing on either the packaging or cart?
-does it specify THC or CBD or etc levels?
-does it have a lot # or expiry date?
-how sure are you that it is empty? Could you disassemble the cartridge?

Tom

Here are pictures of a mostly dissambled cart (I didn't bother with the battery and electronics) and packaging.

No company listed other than 'Baked Bar' and the instagram address on the back.
No lot or expiration date.
A few months ago the packaging changed a bit, up until then I believe it listed "total Cannabinoids" 93.5% and THC 87.5% but I could be getting those numbers slightly wrong, as they no longer container those numbers anywhere on the packaging.
Not that it means much at all, but the "scan and verify" checked out.

Also I'm in the midwest, but I know they're not from here lol.

@RxVeritas Thanks for those pics! I’ve never seen (or used a 2g vape cart). I’ve got them available to me on the blackmarket, but no information other than THC% One brand (1g) cart has THC %’s and terpene %’s (which they readily admit is terpene blend added to distillate).

Here’s one thing to make sure you get 99.99% of the oil left in the cart. Only if it’s metal and glass though (no plastic). You can soak all of the glass or metal parts in 99% Isopropyl alcohol if it’s available to you. I would do 2 ‘washings’. Transfer to a glass baking dish and let evaporate, preferably outdoors and with a fan blowing from a few feet away. Once all of the alcohol is gone, you can scrape up virtually all of the oil with 2 razor blades (uh,1 to shovel the oil into a line and, if it sticks to the blade the second one is used to scrape the oil off of the first blade into a glass dish.

We’re never (or not for a long time) get 2g vape cartridges in Canada b/c the legal limit is 1000mg THC per cart (I’ve seen 1.2g carts, but at 80% THC and a single 2g cart @50% THC/50% CBD.

That is actually what I do after I collect a few empty ones, and it works like a charm! Although admitedly I use 91% because that's the strongest I can find around here, and I only do a single wash.

I usually melt the oil over a bowl or roll a joint in it, and as you can imagine it's quite strong.

Being that I use 91% isopropyl, does that mean that there are impurities left behind, or is the other 9% just water? I guess I never really figured that one out for myself, but just assumed 91% would be fine and I haven't had any problems yet (from impurities in the alcohol nor impurities in the carts)...

I hope that there aren't some strange synthetics mixed in, and it surely doesn't feel that way (as somebody who's been smoking for 15 years) to me, but once again that's the risk you run buying products that aren't "legal", I guess.

black market carts have been accused of causing significant health issues. i dunno if there have been further developments clearing their name.

Thank you for the heads up. What about using 91% isopropyl alcohol? Is that a potential issue?

Black market concentrate, I do not recommend. Flower is whatever because you can see the product, but with concentrates you have no idea, let alone the quality of it. I legitamately only use my medical card for carts and edibles for that reason
