Here's the difference. If you ask a Christian if its true some guy walked on water 2000 yrs ago, they'll say yes it's in a book anyone can buy at the dollar store for a buck. If you ask a Scientologist if some galatic warlord named Xenu tossed alien souls into a volcano 70 million years ago they'll deny it and ask you to spend $$$ on "auditing" to learn more. That being said, some people cannot think for themselves and seek out these cults to make them feel a sense of security.
