In the lush Virginia hills,

They kept her as long as they could.

They knew when the white brother found

White shell beads wrapped around her,

Skin in a life-giving river

Her body open, as will his hand.

With a 'goodbye, there she goes.

-'Virginia' Tori Amos

Digging away with counterpart spoon,

Floating outside her black balloon,

Egregious adieu, push-button rings,

This contrasting view of pain-pointed stings

Electronic ache a subsonic wave...

Telltale prey, modify melt...

Terse outcry, blemish-brow meld...

Erstwhile lush, one-time plush...

Sun arise a thumbtack plain,

Counterclockwise faraway sane...

Gold Renoir kaput once more...

Bleeding Love upon Your Shore...

World turned over as holy fell,

Exploited closer-colder hell...

Sonically enrapturing. I read this aloud to myself like a beat poet. The flow is magnificent.
