Thanks.

Normally we include full information about the university and researchers involved in studies we support here at Bluelight. Although these are available from the survey link, once the study is finished, that link is usually dead - making it impossible to track the publication once completed.

This study is being conducted by the University of Sydney and the full details from the information sheet are reproduced below:

Drug Use, Spiritual Experiences and Personality

You're invited to participate in an anonymous online survey examining the relationship between drug use, spiritual experiences, and various personality traits.

You DON'T need to be a past or present drug user, or even a spiritual or religious person to be eligible for this study, as the survey contains many questions unrelated to drug use or spirituality.

However, to be eligible you DO NEED to be an Australian resident aged 18 years and over.

As we've already noted, participation in this study is open to drug users and non-users alike, but we're especially keen to hear from more non, former and infrequent drug users.

Participation in this study involves completing an online survey lasting around 35-45 minutes. Any information or personal details gathered in the course of the study will be treated with the strictest of confidence and no individual will be identified in any publication of the results. Before proceeding with the survey please read the following information about the study and print out a copy of this page for your own reference.

Survey content

This survey contains questions about your mental health and drug use history. The personal nature of these questions may cause a certain level of discomfort in some individuals. If at any point you find these questions distressing please do not continue and contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Alcohol and Drug Information Service on 1800 198 024. Additional mental health and drug information referral details are provided at the end of the survey. You are free to withdraw from the survey at any time without prejudice by simply closing your browser.

Privacy and confidentiality

This survey contains questions about illicit drug use. Your privacy is paramount to us and all information will be treated with the strictest of confidence. Survey responses will not be disclosed to a third party, except in the unlikely situation where it is required by law. However, the nature of the questions are such that you cannot be identified by your responses. For example, potentially identifying information, such as your name, Internet Protocol (IP) address, or e-mail will not be collected. Any information you do provide will be kept strictly confidential. Survey data can only be downloaded from a secure computer accessible by researchers directly involved in the project and the resulting database will be stored on an encrypted drive. In any publication or presentation, information will be presented in a way that will not identify any respondent. The identity of internet discussion forums and organisations will also not be disclosed.
