Anyone here prescribed Dexamphetamine?

I was told today by my doc. that a psychiatrist must prescibe the initial dose (VIC) first then my gp may furthur prescribe for me. Is this true, or is it an excuse my gp made to say no to me. Im always honest with her (gp) so dont see why she would bullshit to me.

I heard 6 months after the psychiatrist prescription, the GP can prescribe. I prefer getting my dex from the psychiatrist.

In VIC, a psychiatrist can immediately authorise a GP to prescribe Dex. They don't need to prescribe the initial dose, nor is there a 6 month period of any kind. You do need to have the diagnosis confirmed by a psychiatrist first though.
