Stimulants Amphetamine - More common in EU?

From my understanding, Amphetamine is more common in EU compared to NA while Methamphetamine seems to be more common in NA. Why is this? Is it a cultural thing?

Meth is extremely rare to get your hands on where I come from. Was available a few years ago but it was low quality & very expensive so I never bothered trying it.

Yeah its the exact opposite here, there's meth everywhere and the only street amp I've ever had was the stuff that I bought online, from Europe. I liked how it made me.... less crazy than meth. Its funny how people always just want what they can't have.

Meth has never been a thing in the UK. Supposedly in gay circles but I dunno. Never seen anyone on here have it/have issues from it. That said, it's all over telegram. Beautiful cryatals; large, white shards.

The only thing that puzzles me is that there is a fairly huge demand in the UK for good quality amphetamine, yet all we get is fake, weak shit. But over in parts of the EU - Germany, Easterm Europe, they get delightfuly pure amphetamine.

And personally I believe that the reason speed is not very common or popular in the US is that there is so much pharmaceutical amphetamines in the form of Adderall and such that is vastly superior to even the pure unadulterated amphetamine that is common in Europe as pharma amphs tend to be the Dextro enantiomer while street amphs are racemic which is extremely tweaky.

It is comparable to Methamphetamine made from Ephedrine to Meth made from P2P. Methamphetamine processed with ephedrine or pseudoephedrine yields d- methamphetamine while the P2P recipe produces a racemic combination of d- and l- methamphetamine.
And just like with regular amphetamine, pharmaceutical pills like Dexosyn consists solely of dextro-methamphetamine.

Dex amphs are way more potent and have a lot less side effects than levo amphs, so because Adderall and other dex amphs are so incredibly easy to get the demand for racemic street amphetamine is just not there. Not to mention that pills are way more socially acceptable than powder or paste.

And also I think having Meth be so common is self-reinforcing. With it being so widely available I don't think it would be easy to create a market for regular amphetamine as it is much weaker... and you really need to be able to sell huge quantities for it to be profitable. A pound of amphetamine costs like $400 in Europe (~$1000/kg). Wholesale you can easily get it at 50 cents or lower per gram, it is usually sold by the barrel in the form of A-oil that the dealer then turns into the Sulphate form for sale - this is the "amphetamine paste" available on street level which is rarely adulterated because it is just so damn cheap and readily available that there's no point in trying to bulk up the volume.

Amphetamines are not less common in the US, the culture is just a bit different. If anything I think they are more common. A lot of people just have their own prescriptions and don't need to buy it off the street.

Ive by now read this countless times but am not able t figure out why. Reduction (pseudo) ephedrine is at the beta carbon while d-methamphetamine is defined by the constellation of the rests at the alpha carbon. So to get d (or s) meth you need the right enantiomer of (pseudo)ephedrine. With p2p there are at least stereospecific routes which are more hassle but yield pure s-methamphetamine.

To get on topic: I come to think that you rather get meth instead of Amphetamine on the street in the us because it’s so prevalent. Over here you more readily see both of them being sold on the streets nowadays.

For what it's worth, I've had a dexamphetamine script since 2019, and I completely agree with you. I'd certainly never give it to my fucking kid, and I actively discourage my friends, even if they clearly have ADHD.

I always blast it in about a week (50mg dexamph), it's fucking addictive as hell, it's so cold and nowhere near as nice as speed, it turns you into a fucking weirdo, it's erratic due to the time release.

Also, my ADHD doctor pisses me off - he absolutely point blank refuses to accept that I can take his medication at 9am, then still be off my face and wired at 3am the following morning. "It's categorically impossible, it's not in the text books".

I have a friend from school who decided he had ADHD when he heard I did. He posted on facebook that he'd successfully changed personality types from type B to type A, through a combination of running, eating healthy food (he was overweight at the time ftr), and fish oils.

I met him for some food and had a bit of a go at him about it, and he quite simply refused to admit out loud that it was the fact he as on amphetamine and had literally nothing whastsoever to do with food, running, or fish oil, let alone had he remotely changed his personality type - he was just off his face daily gobbing off on facebook, reeling off pages of SHITE.

We haven't spoken since 2020, and given that he once responded to one of my bluelight posts within a minute of posting, even though he hadn't posted in years, so he evidently follows and reads my posts on here, he may well read this.
