I searched, and think I am in the right place... if not please forgive an old lady. :) I tried to find an answer on Google and ended up here. At the moment, I take no drugs, except the prescriptions from my drs. If you need to know them, let me know. I am trying to narrow down what in the heck is giving me hives; I now have a new set on top of the old and to say they itch, is putting it mildly! The only "new" thing I can think of is going to my neighbors...which I have done before. The only thing different about it, was they were smoking crack. Normally I only go over in the morning, when they are not usually drunk or high. Would it be possible to be allergic to the smoke? I would really appreciate an answer... as I would rather it be that, than some of the things it may be...have enough health problems without adding more lol Thanks again.

its pretty unlikely smoke from your neighbors residence is effecting you this severely, unless you're literally sitting in there with them all day gettnig hotboxed? i know you'd rather that this be the answer butwould you mind letting us know what your meds are? if anything it'd help rule out one possibly factor.

Forgot to introduce myself: :) I am Susan, 66 yr. old widow. Not much else to really say; I do have"permission" from both my drs.to use whatever folks call grass these days lol, can you tell I have not used since college, and live in a state where there is no medical marijuana? I have only used occasionally since February when I was diagnosed with he nerve stuff... sometimes a hit or two will help me sleep. I take gabapentin, oxcarbazapine and occasional tramadol or valium for Trigeminal neuralgia; quarterly shots of kenalog for autoimmune called lichen sclerosis ; omeprazole for gird; just added cipro for possible infection, and lasix for edema(also visit to cardio to see if heart is involved. She is testing for lupus, as my daughter is dying from it. That is all, except for a few otc and vitamins. Sorry if the type size is gigantic...it says smallest, but is huge on tablet. I figured it was not the smoke, but all else seems to point towards the lupus...:( I guess whatever it is, wishing will not change it. I need to get to where my daughter is and just live for the moment, and be thankful (sadly, the fact that she is dying slowly seems to get in the way) Thanks for answering!!

^ i'm so sorry to hear about your daughter :(
your list of medications is pretty vast, i wouldn't be confident naming any of of them as a potential culprit for your rash - but i think we can pretty much rule out any second hand crack smoke.

and please forgive my rudeness where are my manners - welcome to bluelight!

Thank you, Bluelighter! :) Guess I shall just wait on a call from doc, and hope a little... lol. Nice to meet you!

I am not a diagnostic specialist of any kind but I have had and known people that have had skin issues with Ciprofloxacin. Here is a list of side effects with 6 different skin problems that might match your current affliction. Nothing concrete but maybe a place to start with your Doc's approval.

Welcome & Good Luck
