Heroin Acid Base Extraction H

I found a guide to do an acid base extraction to purify H using ammonia, hydrochloric acid and diethyl ether. Getting the diethyl ether is becoming a strange pursuit (i live in nsw). I seem to be able to buy diethyl ether stabilised with BHT (99.7% pure) but trying to purchase diethyl ether AR (Analytical Reagent Grade) i get hit with having to fill out an official end user form and be a proper company with an environmental hazardous chemicals license from nsw epa at a whopping $2k. Do i need AR or is the BHT stabilised just as good for this experiment? Please help I dont want to hurt myself
