[Snafu in the Void]

I woke up lost
I'm imperfect
A tiny man on the edge
of the furthest echo of the universe,
waiting to be forgotten

I'm making a mistake
I'm imperfect
I'm the beautifully sad song
playing underground, muted, muffled,
that your unconscious mind will use to tune your next dream

I'm not a writer
I'm imperfect
I'm gathering dust on shelf in nowhere
while the last employee leaves the store
locking the door behind them

I'm isolated and afraid
I'm imperfect
And if you can feel my words
you might help me defeat my loneliness
for today

I'm still here
even though I hate myself
because the courage in my heart will always be a paradox
giving me the time to think
and remain

I'm guarding my parcel of land
where authority isn't recognized,
and where the dreams that never became true,
yet still tickle my heart,
defend their existence

The purpose of my life is limited
by the painful beauty of my freedom
and exists because of it

I'm the sum total of my mistakes
and if you see any beauty in that
it is because I found the strength to own them

May be just where ya are and prefect as is. I honestly think you are on top of your game... as opposed to the earlier you? Is this a correct assessment?

I'm truly being dramatic just for artistic value, but these are real emotions within me. I wouldn't read too much into it. I've written much darker stuff than this
