I stumbled on a few patents that I'd never seen, put out by a company called Tactogen. It kind of reminds me of the recent Jason Wallacht patents, very comprehensive. Anyway theres def loads of new structures to ponder and wonder about. Wild times we living in.

Advantageous benzofuran compositions for mental disorders or enhancement - https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2022061242A1/en. This one is primarily discussing formulations of APB and MAPB analogues and enantiomers but if you can get near the bottom of the patent there is quite a bit of synthetic methods as well.

Advantageous tryptamine compositions for mental disorders or enhancement - https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2022061242A1/en?inventor=Matthew+BAGGOTT

2-aminoindane compounds for mental disorders or enhancement - https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2022061242A1/en

yup, I'm sure 1-propio-5-difluoro-6-trimethoxysulfur-n'n-dibutyl-alpha-fluoro-beta-keto-tryptamine is going to be the next biggest thing! How could LSD ever rival these magical molecules!

the entire pharmacological field needs to be abolished

Hey, don't knock it til you try it! ;-P (Also, "5-difluoro"? You could at least try to make it look real.)

More seriously, the big goal is not to improve on existing classical psychedelics (which I agree would be difficult to do in a meaningful way), but to improve on MDMA. So these are not targeted at 5-HT2A (as should be obvious from the structures) but are primarily targeting monoamine transporters. The basic scaffold is a tryptamine because several tryptamines have entactogenic effects. AET, to pick one well known example, has MDMA-like effects with little increase in blood pressure (unlike MDMA). Unfortunately, AET causes long-term serotonergic changes that may contribute to loss-of-magic and difficult comedowns. Essentially, these novel tryptamines are different ideas for hybridizing cathinones and tryptamines to try to reduce the psychedelic and cardiovascular effects associated with entactogens and to also minimize loss-of-magic and comedowns.

If anyone wants to learn more about the philosophy behind the project, I'm happy to chat. I've also been on the podcasts Drug Positive and The Business Trip talking about my background and about Tactogen, which is a public benefit corporation that is focused on accessible medicines.
