32 people have been arrested and two cannabis farms discovered in Merseyside Police 's crackdown on two warring south Liverpool gangs.
Cash was also seized with over 400 officers involved in coordinated raids at 7am on 38 addresses, mainly in the Toxteth and Dingle areas, as part of Operation Azuga.
The huge show of strength by the force aimed to take out two rival gangs vying for control of the Class A and B drugs market.
It followed a 12-month operation carried out by detectives from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime (MSOC) after information provided by the community.
It has already seen six guns – including two machine pistols – and £3m of drugs recovered.
Searches of the properties which were raided today – including using circular saws to get through a door in Mulgrave Street – were ongoing after an operation which the force said “demonstrated its commitment to fighting serious and organised crime within our community”.
