homeland? you've got to be shitting me, claire danes stfu. i stopped reading this rubbish right there. the comedy awards were bad enough. do these "awards" have any legitimacy?

yeah i watched the whole first season. ms danes is the weakest part. the wide eyed stupor look on her face was cute in r+j, but as an adult it just looks creepy. the show was cheap entertainment, not as insultingly cheap as breaking bad, i did watch it to the end.

the first season of the killing was far better.

the first season of the killing was far better.

That was pretty slow paced and in 13 episodes they didn't really progress that far. The characters weren't all that interesting either.

uh... nope. unless you call recognizing shitty tv shows legitimate.

Name six shows that belonged on the Outstanding Drama list and name six shows that belonged on the Outstanding Comedy list.

underplayed and genuinely atmospheric writing and acting is far more interesting to me than cartoony exaggeration. i was absolutely engaged with that first season and can't wait to hit up the second. the killing doesn't slap you on the face with an obvious plot like homeland does. often i can't tell if i am getting older and smarter or if tv is just getting dumber and drama more spoon fed.

claire danes was atrocious in that show. game of thrones, mad men and boardwalk empire are all far superior to homeland. I haven't seen an downtown abbey. i'll happily grant that homeland is better than bb.

^ yeah good stuff..

I'm kind of surprised Game Of Thrones didn't seem to do very well.

I didn't realize Girls/Lena Dunham was up for so much. And Veep/Julia? I dig it. I only watched a few episodes of Veep, though.

I like the Justified nod with this:

Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series
Breaking Bad – Mark Margolis as Tio Salamanca
The Good Wife – Dylan Baker as Colin Sweeney
The Good Wife – Michael J. Fox as Louis Canning
Justified – Jeremy Davies as Dickie Bennett – WINNER
Mad Men – Ben Feldman as Michael Ginsberg
Parenthood – Jason Ritter as Mark Cyr

Justified is fucking righteous.

Also, why is American Horror Story listed as Mini-Series/movie?

Ouch, Max!

I believe that might have been a little more credit than was due, but I think Lena's writing and directing is pretty great and fresh (especially when her young age is taken into account). Her acting is good.

I heard Homeland was awesome. Have you seen it L2R?
as a result of all the emmy hoopla, we just started watching it. it's excellent - the first couple of episodes were outstanding.
