1st time Xanax 2mg

i have a 2mg Xanax to try 1st time - my question is would it make a difference if i tried 1/2 -

is the difference of 1/2 effect
or
is the difference of 1/2 the time of effect
.

Please don't get to taking Benzos they make you think you're ok but actually making a fool. The withdrawls suck which I'm experiencing now
