Uhh all that shit might be true, but does it take into account population growth or the fact that the internet has changed the way music is distributed?

Not trying to make this post too serious or anything, but I'm sure that the teeny-boppers out there who go on iTunes with daddy's credit card probably account for a shitload of sales.

If there were 13 year-old girls and the internet/iTunes back in the 1960's, you better Beliebe that there would have been someone similar to this Justin kid.

The Justin Bieber Effect

1. Go to any music video of any song released more than 10 years ago.
2. Look through the comment section
3. Notice the comment about Justin Bieber.

There WILL be a Bieber comment.

i searched for the first thing that came to mind. nearly lost you by screaming trees (released 1992). 266 comments, none about - or even mentioning - justin bieber.

My thoughts exactly. There are more music consumers alive today, and it's easier to obtain said music.

He could have used the search function to look through the comments too, ya know
But I wouldn't be surprised at all if he carefully picked through each comment with care, in hopes of mention of the almighty Biebz..
