You've mixed up "profile picture" and "avatar"

From the Support FAQ: To get or change your avatar, go to the top of the page and click 'Settings'. You should now have a bar of options on the left side of your screen that. Scroll down that list until you see “edit avatar”

WOW lol all i had to do was scroll down thank you
