Movies everyone hates but you

Vanilla Sky was OK. The only problem was that the twist ending kind of had the same twist as a certain other series of movies (which I won't mention for spoiler reasons).

Nurse Betty is another movie I love and everyone I know hates.

I like this film too. I don't know anyone who has seen it so I don't know if everyone else liked it or hated it.

Oh, I thought of one:

The Weatherman

Yeah, so it's not the feel-good comedy of this generation but I found some parts pretty funny actually. I think generally its depressed story and lack of any sort of redemption is why people hated this. And by "people" I mean the film critics. IMDB says 7.0, a pretty good score. But I remember when it came out how much people vocally talked about its terribleness. It got 58% on Rotten Tomatoes, a score which by their standards, is not a very good movie. I think the spread in this is that the people who ignore the critics actually like it, but because of the critics a lot of people did not go out to see it.

An old George Lucas film called THX 1138. Absolutely mind blowing. If you think the directors cut is confusing, the original was spectacularly irrespective of regarding the viewer and his or her understanding of what's going on. This is my 3rd favorite movie ever.

also liked weatherman.

vanilla sky is one of my all time favs.

i also LOVED one hour photo.

^^^ Amen to both. I was quite surprised to read that both got lukewarm reviews. I'll take Tom Cruise in a seething angry bastard role over his suave dreamboat roles any day. I'll take Robin Williams as an introverted creep over any of his 'lovable fool' children's movie roles any day.

I love Vanilla Sky as well! OK. I checked up on RT.com and it was rated at 43%. The Specials
America's 7th Best Superhero Team, the Specials, are a group of geeks and oddballs. We get to see one day in their lives as fan and new member Nightbird joins the group, just in time for the group to get a new line of action figures. But the members' extreme personalities and personal issues threaten to rip the group apart

Deadly Girl: I used to think I didn't need a family. I mean, I had the demons and the walking skeletons. But the difference between a walking skeleton and a kid is, a kid won't eat the soft parts of your face while you're sleeping.
LOL!

I really liked The Hills Have Eyes:

MPW-16763

Well, when I say really liked I mean I enjoyed it. Everyone was moaning about the rape scene and how unnecessary it was and blah blah blah. But hey, I thought it was quite an entertaining film which did make me squirm and jump a few times. Which is more than I can say about the original version.

ZOMG! Totally! I also loved One Hour Photo and found it to be satisfyingly creepy.

I really love Kurt Russel in both Escape from New York and Escape from L.A
I think they are both awesome movies

Everyone seems to loathe Superman 3 (everyone apart from Frankie Baby© as I recall), but it's my favourite of the series. :D

Number 4 on the other hand. :|

Logan's Run! All my friends hate that movie but I think it's badass.
Totally.

New York was far, far superior.

I also loved the introductory soundtrack. Sounds like the first few bars of a Daft Punk's "Ouverture". The video even looks similar.

Night Of The Living Dead 1990 remake.

I prefer it to the original. Most people don't like it at all.

Me too Tribal Girl! While the original deserves to be called a horror classic, I really thought the 1990 remake with Tony Todd (The Candyman) was really scary. It also, to me, seems like the most realistic scenario for if a zombie attack occured. Don't get me wrong, I loved Dawn of the Dead, but the average Joe doesn't have access to a helicopter and what are the chances of just finding a random mall that happens to have a gun store complete with all the ammo and firepower you can dream of...

Another one of my favorites is the 1984 comedy Hardbodies. IMDB and other movie sights proclaim that the one liners and jokes "fall flat without even a smile". But I can say I've watched this movie sober and stoned, and while yes it's a laugh riot stoned, it's still a funny film without pot.

Plus the Hardbodies theme song is great!
Anyone else ever seen it?
