I used to love this forum, but between all the dead friends and all the alive assholes, it is SO FUCKING HARD to want to come here and help contribute to actual harm reduction. Bunch of elitists cynical cliquey assholes. Fuck you all.

I would hang out helping here more if it didn't constantly feel like I have to walk on eggshells around certain staff members.

I'm talking about the site at large, picked The Dark Side to rant in rather than cloud up anywhere else. Maybe it's not the appropriate venue, idk. I just know that I really used to believe in helping with harm reduction around here, but in recent years the site has very much not felt like that's even what the place is about. There are a lot of good people on staff but there have always also been a lot of people on staff who mainly just seem like they "volunteer" for their own egos, people who give more snark than love. And people on staff who seem to like to abuse their power to make up for their own personality issues.

Hang around long enough, and you'll see certain groups and cliques come and go. Unfortunately that includes losing people we care about the most. I have at times lost the plot contributing here, due to drama and personalities, and let vitriol cloud my judgement. But I had to let it go for my own personal mental health and to continue being here in a helpful fashion to those that reach out. Whatever it is you're dealing with or whatever issues you have with any staff members, my only suggestion is to turn that focus inward and try to continue bettering yourself, Bluelight isn't going anywhere and if you truly care about HR and other peoples struggles, there are still plenty of people here that need help. You don't have to get along with staff to offer a kind word or be of support to those that truly need it.

its always been like this, there was just a community of people who made the shit worth it, but they are now mostly sadly gone.
