isopropylbenzylamine & meth

Call me Gullible, but I do trust the DEA reports. What do they have to gain by telling people the purities of drugs? If anything I would assume they'd intentionally lower the published purities, to make people think it's a waste of time. I presume the figures come from bulk seizures though, not street level dealers.

Back when I was doing GCMS ~2years ago, out of maybe a half dozen samples of ice, I only ever saw MSM in meth once, and never saw this famed N-Iso. I personally think meth is both cheap enough and there's enough competition to make cutting your product a dumb idea - bad news travels faster than good, and when there's 3 dealers on the same block all selling different shit, if you get shit product you'll go somewhere else.

Most of the other word-of-mouth I hear about methamphetamine analysis lines up with this too - relatively high purities.

You got it! Your exacly right: to make people "think" but not about a waste of time, more so how much of a problem it is. I would give a lot to have a product that was clean. Its all junk. Demand goes up....quality goes down. Im all ears if you could point me in a good direction. Lanc.pa

THANK YOU. lol good to see people utilize critical thinking. I've never come across N-iso either. I used to run into MSM more than i'd like to admit. Around the mid 00's, it was very common. Spotting it was very easy, because the smaller crystals would easily bend, like plastic and were nearly impossible to crush. But every now and then you'd get a chunk of what you thought was real, end up being 90% MSM (boiling puddle, no vapor, horrible taste, etc). Thankfully, MSM is basically non existent these days. I haven't seen or heard about it in years. Odd that it disappeared right when all the domestic manufacture dried up 🤔

From what i've heard, N-iso can't even be recrystalized as a proper cutting agent, meaning a dealer would have to 50/50 every bag or basically just rip people off by selling them a bag full of Isopropyl-whatever lol.
Doing either of those is risky at best and the latter is downright dangerous.
Though i've gotten my share of suspect quality from time to time, when it's mediocre, you can tell right away by simply looking at the bag. The abundance of powdery shake at the bottom of the bag and/or creamy colored crystals coated with said powdery stuff. What i mean is, if it looks real, tastes real, feels real, the odds are, it's crystal meth and just as pure as it was 15 years ago.

MSM stopped being used ten years ago.caffeine and niacin still get used.
Lube is being used by some ppl.
I've only come across n-iso 2-3x in amounts big enough to notice.once it was just straight n-iso.completely inactive.the other times it was about
1-1 and it made me sleepy,made the stuff wear off quicker than usual and just generally makes it shitty.theres probably a fair few times it was in there in small amounts where it was only a few percent and didn't notice it.
Never had it in cathinones but have with meth.

This may be a bit of a wild idea, but human taste receptors can sometimes be sensitive enough to tell different compounds apart. Some chemists liked to taste the compounds they would synthesize, in a bygone era, when chemists were brave and accidents were grave.

Another might be the odor profile of the freebase. Odor of chemicals is a crude but sometimes suprisingly effective way to identify them, that has been used for centuries. For instance I know I can differentiate benzene, toluene, and xylene. The two different isomers of alpha-pinene, and those of limonene, all have different odor profiles too. Most interestingly, I am told by some patents and journal articles that one can smell the difference between quality grades of street cocaine, as well.

I know that methamphetamine has a very characteristic smell and taste, maybe someone who has access to "N-Iso" can do a literal taste test, and/or report the odor of the freebase in comparison to methamp? Methylamine does not smell like ammonia: presumably methamphetamine does not smell like amphetamine? Leffingwell says both isomers of amphetamine smell "fecal" (like shit) for what it's worth...

Fecal? *barf* That's unsettling.
In all honesty crystal meth shouldn't smell like much until its going up your nose. Then it should have that familiar taste/smell of postage stamps. Any weirdness like sulphur, match heads, or ammonia or sweet perfume is the result of a half-assed wash following a half-assed cook.

The only meth i can remember having a clear, distinctly nasty odor, was crank. Wretched stuff.
 
Having been in the company of people who smoke methamphetamine, the vapor produced has a sord of weird, chemical-ish, fishy, amine-like smell. Even with pure stuff.

The problem with this is you have faded away from the topic: locating looks, taste,and feel is the most difficult part for most.
 
Thoughts on dark web meth? Did it a half dozen times and would say it was good once. But my theory on that is if you got good product it should sell itself. No need to attempt to move it through the mail...just my opinion

Couldnt dissagree more...it should have absolutely no smell! It should be dry and oderless if it was done with care.

There is certainly a lot of garbage me th on DW. Out of 5 suppliers I tried I only rated 1.

I mean, i guess if someone is inexperienced, and/or just starting out. Or they're an old timer and just really dense. 🤤
People tend to be motivated to learn what's good and what's garbage pretty fast with this stuff.

Sucks if they are using ISO. It shouldn't be stimulating even. Structurally it isn't even a phenethylamine. It also isn't alpha methyl so it's not an amphetamine. Calling it some kind of analog is beyond misleading. I bought some meth twice a few weeks ago on the street corner and it kicked my ass so i highly doubt isopropylbenzylamine as being a primary component.

Were the crystals larger than a grain of rice? Did they have a squarish, blocky appearance? If so, it was likely N-Iso with some meth in it. It can still kick your ass, even with a very small percentage of meth.. since meth and N-Iso aren't necessarily the only things in there.
