let me address the facts surrounding the incident that precipiated yesterday's derailing of the gibberings thread.

yesterday's allegation was that evey used bl as the medium for the supply of drugs to another bluelighter. while we now know that drugs did change hands, the transaction and the associated communication - to the best of our knowledge- took place off-site. regardless of how much animosity some of you feel for the individual(s) in question, we can not, have never and should not be policing acts which take place off of bluelight. to suggest otherwise is impractical and imappropriate.

there were further allegations that the user in question is receiving lenient treatment because of donations to the site and that she is receiving special treatment because of favouritism on the part of eadd staff. i'll address these points separately:

lenient/special treatment and fair/consistent treatment are not the same thing but they are being conflated by a vocal lynch-mob of bluelighters who simply do not like evey and have made it clear that they're trying through various means to remove or force her from bluelight. there have been two cases in the recent past where evey was banned from bluelight 'permanently' only to be reinstated after the circumstances of her bans were reviewed. i'll remind everybody that both the bans and the subsequent reinstatements were by members of the bl admin. team and, while like any staff they were free to give an opinion, the eadd staff were not involved in the final decision. we took the decision to reverse those bans because they circumvented the regular bluelight discipline procedure and we felt that was inappropriate. if you want to be annoyed at somebody for overturning evey's permanent ban twice, be annoyed with me.

in terms of quid pro quo for donations, that's simply a case of erroneous assumption. donations are anonymous - nobody in the bl staff hierarchy has access to donation names, emails or amounts. only the bl owners (s_g and tlb) know who's donated to the site and how much. if those of you who believe that there is a quid pro quo arrangement in place for donations, then you're essentially calling the site owners and myself liars. i believe i can live with the disappointment.

i've been a bluelighter for over 13 years and a staffer for much of that time. i've seen - and personally been on the receiving end of - some of the most vitriolic, hateful bile imaginable on the site. some of the comments i saw yesterday were up there in terms of mean-spirited abuse. singling out individuals for abuse on bluelight, cowardly posting abusive comments from the safety of the anon forum and crudely mimicking bluelighters on other sites (e.g. reddit) in an attempt to smear them here are unacceptable. they waste staff time and distract everybody from the core mission of the site.

if you have an issue with a user on this site and you believe they are posting content which is problematic, report their posts and let the forum staff do their jobs. if you're not satisfied with the actions a forum staffer has (or has not) taken, escalate your concerns to the senior moderators who oversee the forum. if you're still not satisfied, escalate again to a member of the admin team. at any point in the process, if you'd like to have the conversation publicly, start a thread in support.

if you have an issue with a user on the site that you simply can not get past, put that user on ignore and move on. when you choose to engage in the public forum, and when you do it using insults and abuse, you are simply no better than the person you're criticising.

i'm happy to answer questions (here or in a pm) but i'm not going to dissect what happened yesterday minutely. i've spent (wasted?) too much time on this already and i'm confident in my finding that bl was not used as a channel here.

if you disagree with that finding, i'll agree to disagree. if you're disappointed by my actions here, i'll find a way to live with your disappointment.

i see comments that eadd has 'gone to shit'. well, if you feel this to be true ask yourself what you're doing to make it better? and if the answer to that is the clusterfuck that erupted in eadd yesterday, then i'm sorry but you're not helping. you're making things worse. if you think that the quality of posts in eadd has dropped, post more quality posts. in short, be the change you wish to see in the forum. if you're unable or unwilling to do that, but content to sit on the sidelines and hurl abuse, i'd advise a look in the mirror because you are, in my humble opinion, part of the problem.

I'm a bit late biting into this, but will just say...

The reddit user was a claimed stalker of years who has nothing to do with this site. The actual messages (from what I saw) were not of that abusive nature, but animosity accrued from genuine reasons.

To say staff are allowed to score meds off users is ok, as it's "offsite" is pretty ridiculous also - no-ones going to make a drug deal publicly on the forum, are they? It makes the site sound like an idyllic playground for drug pushers.

I did make a complaint, for no other motive than I don't want to see EV hurt herself. Knowing her, dealing with her suicidal tendencies and addiction problems I genuinely feel she will not be able to handle drugs successfully. I've seen so many people either die or hospitilized on this forum, I didn't want to see another. Most people on this site seem to share that opinion also; the only people who seem to be willing her onto the site are the mods - who funnily enough - are the ones scoring her suboxone.

Raas isn't just shit stirring though Evey he does genuinely care. He's right in what he says this site hasn't reduced your level of exposure to harm, it maybe would if you would actually research things, and take heed of warnings :)

I feel like I was overly harsh in blaming Evey for problems within EADD though. It is true some members did leave because of her, there is no disputing that. But really alot of the problems lie with the senior mods. They both know things I am referrencing. The decision making capability isn't what it was either.

Also still no apology from Shambles for accusing both myself and breakcorefiend publicly and privately of impersonating Evey. also calling us a group of "low life's" publicly as he was convinced there was some mass conspiracy which wasn't there. Breakcorefiend says he's done here, given up on any hope for the forum recovering because the mods don't do what they used to do, which is what's best for the site and its users as a whole. It's hard to rule with conviction, without any credibility from the mods themselves setting a good example.

Raas has been practically shunned out of this forum for pointing out what to many of us is blindingly obvious. Evey you are the only one who can make him be wrong, but so far everything you've done falls predictably into what Raas said. You started off trying one drug, then it became 3, with next to no research of your own (anyone can see that, Sprout called it earlier). Then a half gram of 3-FPM on a Friday, the next week you've already got 3 grams and are on it Wednesday - Sunday, with more ordered already. It isn't hard to get addicted to from Sprout and FUBARs posts, and you have a little girl who needs you. Raas knew this would happen and predicted it very early on, that introducing you to these new drugs even with excellent HR as S&F did, that you wouldn't take heed of any of it. And so far hes been right. You are taking new drugs to try and fit in, which is jeprodizing what you have already.

Sorry for the long post and I tried to be kind with my words. Hopefully you might understand what many have said before.

WOW you could not be more ignorant of the facts if you tried. Firstly we'll go with people scoring off site. Do you really think mods have the power to "police" if you will, off site. That's simply a ridiculous thought. We can only help our members with things they do on BL. For goodness sake get a grip man. A grown man cannot be that naïve.

And yes, You have no idea what we see on this side. People have been so stupid as to try and publicly and openly score in EADD and the rest of bl. Usually N00bs or people already off their tits who should know better. Do you know why you don't see this???? Shhhhhhh, imma let you in on a small secret but try not to tell anyone. Sid, A lot of us have echoed what Raasy has said, but as Evey has clearly stated - she is a grown adult and does not need or want us to show that we care for her wellbeing. It is her decision and her's alone so we should simply respect her decision and let this matter go or were just going to be in this cycle of advising what is best, it being ignored and the subsequent fall out.

If Evey wants to take any drug she is free to do so. We can only point out the risks involved, then how to take the substance safely, we cannot tell a person how to live their lives.

Not having a go at you Sid but we should not be almost bullying a person to not take drugs on a forum of people who take drugs.

You spend so much of your time modding brushing everything under the table and closing down discussion you seem to be unable to realise this causes for a big trash pile right in the centre of the living room...

I'm genuinely trying to be on good behaviour here but it's very painful to see what a fallacy this place has become. For the record now I don't think it was fair Evey should be punished for any of that. Do I think the senior mods who've been using the site to score or send drugs should still be in power? Absolutely not, if they had any streak of dignity they would see their credibility is fucked and they look like a pair of mooching oafs who can't handle being held accountable for their misuse of the site, and in ScotchMist case Evey. By them not even having to answer to any of this it sets an example to the members of the forum that is quite frankly very unhealthy for the site as a whole.
