NBOMe, why?

I don't understand why people mess around with this. Wildly unpredictable, indeed, unpredictably fatal. I've never taken it but it doesn't sound that good, or significantly different, from other psychedelics even in the positive trip reports. There are so many other plants and chems available that are safe, why risk your life for this drug? Is that part of the attraction, the dance with death?

I don't really know, I have absolutely no desire to try this at all, and I'll try most things. I'm a big fan of psychedelics, but NBOMEs seem to have no benefit over traditional substances but lots of risks.

It's just passed off as acid a lot so a lot of people have tried it. Some people liked it so they bought more online, others freaked out or OD'd and never touch it again. It's very cheap and if you're a schemey bitch it'll make good money. Not very fun though, generally.

It's a lot cheaper than acid and people tell you it's similar. It's mostly misinformation and greed that lead to taking this substance.

Some people enjoy the effects over safer substances to the point that they are willing to risk their lives for it.

I've done NBOMe passed off as LSD twice, first trip was ok, second was terrible... Never touching that shit again...

I've tried 25i-nbome a couple of years ago, three times (2x 300 ug; 1x 600 ug) and I liked the effects but I didn't care for the tolerance; I noticed it affected my mushroom and DMT experiments for as much as three weeks after I took the nbome so I lost my interest.
After that the reports of adverse effects at regular (low) doses started pouring in and now I won't bother with the stuff. I have 8 tabs left in my stash that I'm pretty sure I won't ever touch again.

In some cases that may be true but as said above the rreported effects don't make it sound unique enough to make it worth risking your life. I can't help thinking tthere's a bit of posturing as a hardcore psych user, a bit of bravado and a bit of the thrill of dicing with death going on with the use of this drug.

One particular thing that'll put me off ever touching an NBOMe again is my preference for a much more intense trip, ergo I'd need to take a higher dose than normal to hit my desired intensity, and with an NBOMe I'm not only seriously risking my health but also it's likely that the physical side effects will ruin the trip anyway.

I think most people who are taking NBOMe are unaware of the risks. Most people don't know that much about the drugs that they're taking unfortunately. I've learned that it's really the select few drug nerds that end up on places like BL, and research the chemicals they ingest. That's why it's important that we get the information out there.

I think the people on BL who choose to continue to use NBOMe are in a much safer place knowing these risks, and are likely more careful than average about dosages etc.

The few people I've met in person who tried NBOMes had no idea about the risks nor the dose they were taking. They loved it, but it makes me shudder.

I also fear these people don't realise that there are many much safer (and arguably significantly more enjoyable) alternatives out there, like 2C-X, mushrooms, LSD, DOX etc. Though these people likely wouldn't even realise there's a difference - they'd just think they're all "different types of synthetic acid" thanks to the blatant misinformation spewed out by the media clowns.

They are less introspective and their mental aspect is unique but much clearer-minded and less confusing than most other psychedelics. This makes them more conducive to recreational use, socializing, casual bonding experiences with friends, etc. They feel good, warmer and gentler than 2c-x in my opinion.

Though the main reason is because they have become much more widespread and easier to obtain than LSD, which seems to have largely disappeared around here. When people who never tried LSD use the term 'acid', they typically don't make the distinction as to what chemical it actually is. As long as it lasts no more than 12 hrs, is fun, and readily available they either don't seem to mind or don't know otherwise.

In my experience, 25i has been a huge mindfuck but completely lacking any underlying direction. It just felt like consistent confusion over nothing. Rather than making me think in a different way, it would just confuse and scramble the fuck out of my thoughts lol. I could still think relatively clearly, and was still grounded in reality, but I'd liken it to stepping into a room with a whole heap of people running around frantically freaking out about something - but nobody will stop to fill you in on exactly what they're freaking out over, and they're too all over the place to make any sense of it yourself.

It seems interesting, but the danger is too high imo to be messing with it.

Unique effects, but bad for your body (possibly).

Again, in my experiences, this isn't even a point of discussion lol. Definitely felt toxic, even when I was 'enjoying' the positive effects.

I took 2 hits last weekend of 25I that was sold to me as LSD. Within the first 30 mins I knew it was not acid. I tripped HARD! But there was zero "magic". I will never do it again. That's what I get for trusting a new plug who I didn't know that well...

I think there's really only two main reasons people still take them: ignorance and availability.

even some people here on bluelight, sport the attitude that it's only noobs that die from NBOMes because they don't know how to dose it properly.

25I is CRAP. I've had it twice - 1-1.5mg both times - and I sure as shit don't intend to take it ever again (or any other 25x for that matter). It's the most anxiogenic psychedelic I have ever tried and there is literally ZERO euphoria. It feels absolutely disgusting as well... on both occasions the feeling was so foul that I had to take codeine and promethazine to feel good.
The visuals were nice (similar to DOM) but nothing special. The only thing unique about it is its toxicity - it doesn't do anything (good) that other psychedelics don't do. It is dirt cheap but then again so are the safer 2C-x and DOx series. NBOMes aren't fit for human consumption.

Its fans piss me off too. They harp on about how supposedly great these drugs are without seeing anything wrong about a strong psychedelic that can kill if you take just a few hundred mcgs too many.
