I'm not kidding when I say that among all the female rocker musician chicks heavy hitting it Vieem is my diana ross supreme. sexy with a heck of a voice. Her music puts me in orbit when i listen to it. I play her music on a constant constant. Usually when I think female musicians it has to be the entire thing. Her songs are killer. Be it hated rules8(.

Love Cat Power up until The Greatest, and a bunch of other stuff people posted already.

Some other faves:

Karen Dalton Amazing folk singer/musician. Never thought I'd like "Cotton Eyed Joe" but I was wrong. Similar to Chan Marshall, when she covers a song, she really makes it her own.

Recommended if you like early Cat Power, or just really depressing music in general. All her albums are great and she's got a new one coming out in May I believe! A Crime.

Some favourites of mine are Emilie Autumn, Poe, and Porcelain Black.

EA is kind of...sketchy, but her music (namely, tracks from "Opheliac" and "Enchant") and culture was pretty much the center of my life between the ages of 13 and 16. Porcelain Black (who used to be Porcelain and the Tramps) has a story slightly similar to mine, so she's someone I look to up to. And Poe just has good music, and is one of the few musicians I can jam out to with my friends.
Songs by them I'd recommend: How Strange, Opheliac, Let the Record Show, What If, and Swallow (Emilie Autumn) Hello, Trigger Happy Jack, Angry Johnny, and Hey Pretty (Poe) and One Woman Army, My Leftovers, King of the World, Fuck Like a Star, and Who's Next (Porcelain and the Tramps/Porcelain Black.)
