MEGA MERGED METHADONE THREAD...All methadone clinic talk in here

I never went to a clinic but I've seen them. I always use to go to this club since I was 12 to go to concerts. It wasn't in the best of areas but could of been worse. I would sit outside the club mad early to get front row.... so that whole time I would see a huge group of people waiting in line. This line was huuuuuuuge and more and more people would come. I would even be asked by adults where the methadone clinic was located. I love how they asked 12 year old me where it was and I was like "uh, I think across the street" and pointed to the huge line. At the time I had no idea what it was really for.

Then throughout the years I would go to the same club and see new faces and some of the same faces there. However now I was also an addict (not to methadone) and I was no longer that 12 year old kid anymore.

That's all I can say... I never went to one and hope I don't ever have to but a lot of people didn't leave complaining.
 
I live in Georgia which sucks anyways and my clinic charges 14$ a day to dose or if you pay for the whole month it's $352.00 and you get a tiny discountof 10%. I take 100mg a day..would like to go up in my dose but per state law u have to see the Dr everytime you increase after 90mg's which sucks cause he is not always there..and its just a fucking hassle...most of the ppl there are either young frat guys or middle aged rednecks hicks and their wives no kidding with 3 fucking screamin kids on thier arms...that is my clinic..oh joy.. we can't have any benzo's even with a rx from your dr...they will not dose if you you pee dirty from xanax...they will taper your ass off fast...I have pissed dirty twice from opiates and just went down a phase and I got one less take home until I had 3 clean tests now I still get my 3 takehomes a week.I can't wait until I just have to go once a week in about 3 months(hopefully) I have just found the folks at my clnic are so rude to the staff..sometimes they deserve it...most times not though as far as I can see.

That is AMAZING ... 13 a DAY??? I pay 0$ a CENTURY (which means = free methadone for the rest of my life if i so please).
God damn U.S. sucks in that way...but it has other cool things...like Dexter, the tv serial. kill kill kill!!! kill them mommy!!!!1

i dont have health care benefits. i dont have health care. everyone in my country working or not, rich or poor gets medicated and treated like a king FOR FREE. one of the plus'es of living in a small Scandinavian country with 0% immigrants to suck the system.

since we here have only 5 mg "DIASEPEKS" tablets, and 20 per tab, one whole scripute was NOT enough (300mg) for one of his daily doses. so he got his mom and dad to go to same doctor and write them also the maximum diasepeks amount s know thy have to go 1nce a week but in the beginning each of them TWICE a week. pretty crazy, but if a 10year benzo addict and quit 18-20mg/day buy focusing on going down 5mg/valium every 1-2 week (usually every 10 days), and he is now on

theyd rather hand out fresh needles to the addicts than actively help them find a vacancy on the program. help people find other hookups there.

im left being addicted to abusing PM meds from my dr rather than a bupe or methadone program
 
in minneapolis there are plenty, and i go to one there. in wisconsin clinics are impossible to find, far away, and impossible to get a new patient appointment

the one i go to in mpls is okay. the first appointment takes 2-3 hours and you can schedule one mon-fri (convenient for that panicked "i cant get dope today, oh shit i dont wanna be sick. guess im getting on MMT" day) you get dosed your first day 30mg, and can go up 5mg per day until you hit 50, 3 days on 50, then consult the dr. and can go up 10mg a day if your habit was big enough. drug tested randomly once a month. weekend take homes right away. after 6 months you can start coming in bi weekly if you piss clean. at one year you can come in bi montly or maybe once a month

most people are on 100-120mg, seems very common to be in that range. obviously some people are higher, but the clinic seems pretty good at avoiding that. some people there always seem very happy and a lot of them know each other and seem very caring. but the vast majority seem poor and disheveled, looking sad though they act happy
 
Luckily, we don't pay for subs or methadone in the UK, so how could I possibly complain? Of course, cost-cutting comes into play here; we're pretty much at the mercy of policy makers regarding to maintenance. We have a tier system here: clinics for the more "chaotic" user, these have needle exchange drops, the meds are strictly supervised, daily, the clients are urine tested regularly, a fail could possibly mean termination. The clients tend to be disheveled and desperate, many are alcoholic and or poly drug users.

The next tier up is far more "civilized", the clients are healthier and tend to be far more stable. They attend monthly drug worker appointments, and can take their prescriptions home with them, usualy on weekly pick-ups. It's worth noting the people on this tier seem happier as a rule, and many are really getting their lives together.
 
I live in a county that only has one methadone clinic very far from me. It's a well-populated county but its also a wealthy county so suboxone is a lot more common. I would have to take a 45 minute bus ride to get to the clinic. Good thing I'm stable enough without methadone at the moment.
 
Ive NEVER heard of clinics here giving 3/400mg doses, your info is faulty. What does it have to do with black people? Are you being serious, trolling or is it some kind of drunken rant? 120 is usually tops.

At my clinic, in Los Angeles, CA, you do not have to be in withdrawal, but they dont want you coming in high. Have to test positive for morphine. They open at 5am, so if you show up then you will be in and out in less than 1 1/2 - 2 hours if youre a new intake patient. You are given between 30-60 mg on your first day and increase/adjust in the days that follow.

We have the orange 20mg wafers that are scored in quarters and also have the pink juice. You can choose whichever one you like, i prefer the liquid because you can increase your dose by individual miligrams, as opposed to the wafers its a 5mg increase or decrease. Thry still dissolve the wafers in water for you, its like chunky orange metamucil.

Getting an increase at my clinic is not difficult, the staff (counselors, docs and nurses) are all vety friendly and understanding and on a first name basis with us. They want to make you feel sate/welcome. Ive been to clinics where they treat you like a drug seeker asking for an increase.

I pay 220$ a month because my insurance doesnt cover MMT. But most people here are on the state insurance program for low income, called Medi-CAL, and its paid for. You can pay however you like, just as long as youve settled your bill by the end of the month.

I get three take homes a week. You have to be a patient for at least six months before you get take homes. But heres the weird thing, i had six dirty UAs the first six month, and on my seventh month i had a clean UA and they let me start on weekend take homes. So to get take homes you have to be there for six months regardless of clean or not, but have to give a clean to continue or to start getting take homes. Then at seven months 3, at 8 months 4 and I think at 12 months you are eligible for a week of take homes. These are MY clinics rules, so i dont know how others are.

The UA is very easy to manipulate. They give you a plastic cup, a paper cup and a plastic baggy and say go in bathroom and give us your sample. They want you to pee in the paper cup then transfer it to the plastic cup and seal in ziplock baggy. Then you come out of bathroom and drop into this chute in the wall. Their stupid joke is to say drop it like its hot. These tests, unlike initial test, get sent to lab so they do not verify temp. So its easy to bring in someone elses pee and use it instead.

We meet with a counselor once a month to discuss our treatment goals.

Daily, we go in, checkin/pay, walk to the back to a window in the wall and the nurse doses us. Never more than two or three people there. Open from 5am until 12:45pm.

In my hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, we only have ONE MMT clinic. Their capacity is 55 people and pregnant woman get priority. So you can put your name on the list, but youll always get bumped down by a pregnant woman. Basically will never get served unless youre pregnant.
 
The clinic I went to made me think MMT was a mistake. They would randomly piss test alot. they would piss test for weed. No take homes for positive anything, including weed. Also, they went in the bathroom with you when you pissed. I eventually just weened myself off methadone because I couldn't stand the bullshit of having to go get my dose from the clinic every monrning. I still wanted to smoke my weed every now and then. I don't even like weed THAT much, but I still liked it every so often, enough that I couldn't put together 90 days of clean time which is necessary for you to get take homes. I heard there are other clinics, farther from me that don't go in the bathroom with you, so you can just bring in your own clean urine and swap it for what you're supposed to piss into.

The methadone clinic left me jaded. I still use dope and I felt that in the long run, I was treated more as a drug user and less as a sick person. Eventually I started rationalizing that at least with a dealer, I was usually in and out within 5 min, as opposed to waiting in line to be dosed at the methadone clinic
 
That seems very harsh they'd terminate you for weed, especialy if you're paying for their methadone....! I agree some of these places can be complete assholes; there's a very real bias against addicts.


Btw I've heard subs are more expensive than methadone; how much do they actualy cost in comparison?(As i mentioned, the drugs are cost-free in UK so I'm curious).

Thats a fucked up clinic you went to. My clinic does not count weed or benzos as dirties, regardless of if you have a script or weed card. And dosing at my clinic takes three minutes max.
 
The clinic in Southwest Ohio that I went to is a complete joke. Pretty much the counselor's forget about you if you're not fucking up. Takes 2 or 3 weeks to get in, UA's are monitored and they will hold your dose until you give them a sample. Your dose can be held for a variety of reasons, including financial. $12/week but don't expect anything but your methadone dose, and don't expect to go any higher than 60mgs. State funded clinic, so complete access to the ghetto and west side territory. In the two year's I went there, I never received any sort of help or assistance with addiction. 3 months of clean urine's/compliance for take home's but good luck getting them from your counselor. If you don't have take homes you go 7 days a week.
 
I'm from Perth, Australia. Only been on Suboxone. First clinic I went to you were pre-judged as a good for nothing junkie the minute you asked for your dose. They literally made just about everybody feel like shit about getting their "medicine" even if you were polite(which I was every time), always checking underneath your tongue very thoroughly each time you opened your mouth, and then to top this off making you feel like a complete retard by saying shit like "didn't open your mouth wide enough, can you do it properly this time please" even though I never tried anything dodgy..

Then I moved, found another local clinic about half hour away from my previous clinic which I dreaded going to every morning. At first, I thought it was just going to be more of the same bullshit but to my amazement this pharmacist who accepted me into the program was a really cool dude, he did not pre-judge anyone, regardless of how they looked and was a pleasure to talk to. Got on real good terms with him, he even let me come in & dose earlier than all the other people so I could be at my job on time, not to mention he gave me tic many times as he knew I'd always pay him back.

Amazing the parallels between these 2 places considering how close they were to each other.
 
i am absolutely sure it is NOT the methadone. been on 320mg for 3 years in April 2014.
