Dunno if this thread will go anywhere, but figured it could work as a social sort of thread or to talk about games when it aint worth making an individual thread for em

just finished deus ex HR myself, back to playing skyrim to try and get into triple digits playtime =D

anyone here tried star wars: the old republic yet? wondering if its worth me checking it out

It depends how much you want to pay for it/ why you want to play it. it's more or less like kotor that you have to pay on a monthly basis for rather than an actuall MMORPG, that said it is an excellent game. But unless you're a big star wars nerd like me I'd just wait until the market fails and it goes free to play.

Grrr I miss my gaming rig. COD 4 was the shit!
Any of you guys play counter strike? Specifically scoutzknivez?

I kick ass at tf2 if that is what your asking :p got a 20 kill streak as a heavy today without a medic, just using med and ammo packs.

Fuck yeah tf2. Man its been like 2 years since I have played that game.

i heard KOTOR is like WoW with lightsabers, so i figured i'll probably wait and see too to see if price goes down. do they have any sort of free trial yet?

i used to love TF2, would fuck everyone as engineer, except i went into a fanboy rage a couple years ago after they started doing all the hats and weapons shit so i havent played it for a while. aint played CS:S in a while, im tempted now though. i've got CS:S Beta up on my steam for some reason, anyone know wtf that is?

... 0.0 kotor is like kotor and is the best RPG of that generation. Independent of the fact that it is star wars. play it. now. You can get it in a play pack at target if you livein the us for like $20 kotor 1&2 and star wars battlefield 2

Man, now that's an old name i haven't heard in a while.. i use to play CS 24/7 back in the early days of 1999-2003.. i stopped around the time WoW was released and that served to consume the majority of my time for the next 4 years, but i remember playing the scoutzknivez map's and having a blast. I had so many scripts and tweaks for that game that really pushed it to it's extreme whilst remaining within the boundaries of legitimacy.

I got back into TF2 recently after years of not playing, i wasn't sure about all the new weapons, hats and misc items.. seemed like they had ripped apart the fundamental gameplay and it was now a mish-mash of team-spam, however it's grown on me and i have fun with it.. What i really miss is games like Quake 3 Arena/Action Quake 2, none of the team crap.. just fast-paced; extreme fragging that's heavily dependent on skill and reflex time, UT 2003 was a good hybrid of team gameplay mixed with fast-pacing. FPS games feel to slow for me these days.. the realism aspect has alot to do with the slowing of combat..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPfaQJuWGvU - Man i miss this.. :D

As for whats next, i wait patiently for Diablo 3.. but i have no expectations.

i played the offline KOTOR but it was confusing and i only played like half an hour in it. that said, i might go try it again.

malak, i remember theres some site where you can play quake online in a browser.. shit cant remember what it is now, think it may be this one but thats just from a google search.

and yeah, TF2 is still pretty fun, i played it for like an hour a few weeks ago. but i wish there was a way that you could just play vanilla mode without all the weapons. maybe there are servers like that, if anyones heard of such things, do let me know

diablo3 looks.. strange. the real world economy thing is going to be disastrous i think.

what im mostly looking forward to at the moment is Guild Wars 2 =D and Risen 2, the original was one of my favourite RPGs

just got Crysis downloaded, completed Deus Ex HR the other day and now i want moar FPSs

also, anyone here play league of legends?

this post is a lot longer than i expected :p

Man, I love team play. Usually if there is one or two other good people on my team we are unstoppable. I was going to suggest we form a BL team but if ya'll are going to be such whiny bitches :p jk
Back in the COD4 Days my guild was unstoppable. I still think COD4 was the most balanced shooter ever. I'm to young for the quake 3/CS days

If you guys play TF2, my gaming community (I'm one of the owners, but there are a few of us) has TF2 games at 10pm Central European Time every Tuesday night. Our server is also 24/7, but we don't have enough regulars yet for it to fill up for the rest of the week. The IP and port are: kunniagaming.net Port 9001 :) Unfortunately for those stateside/australia etc, the server is based in France so.. :( But would be fun to play with some of you guys, for sure! (PS we also have Gmod and Minecraft servers.)

As for myself, I'm not very good at it, but I like to play each Tuesday with the rest of the group. I mostly play Pyro and Engineer.

Also a big fan of CS and CS Source, but mostly 1.6 :D

I'd totally be down for an organised bluelighter minecraft session sometime =D What are the IP's of your group's minecraft servers JG?

BTW if anyone wants to add me on steam, my username's JSPete. I usually just play BF3 these days with a little bit of Skyrim.

my steam is either 'nAON' or 'cherban', ima DLing TF2 and CS:S now. still dont quite get what this CS:S beta is though

anyone playing league of legends*? its the game im probably spending most of my time on, skyrim has started to get boring

*in case any of you decide to try it, register via this link so that i get goodies

never got into minecraft myself, probably didnt play it long enough. i built some axes and some sticks and shit and got bored :p

Haha, don't get me wrong.. an optimal team balanced game can be really really fun! Especially when you get tactical and strategic and capitalize on each class's functions.. when i was playing CS seriously in the early days with clans.. we had ventrillo setup for voice-comms and the server was setup so the game would 'black-out' upon death to avoid relaying information between the dead and alive players, we would write up entire strategy's and have blueprints of the maps signalling where each member of the team was going, which positions to hold and rush, where to use smoke grenades and flash's for maximum effect. It was intense but i loved that about it.. haha, most public-team play is spam.. but TF2 does a good job at forcing people to work together, especially the payload maps. I mostly play on Class Limit servers, 2 Spy/Sniper and 3 of every other class per team.. the servers also have an auto-scramble feature where if one team exceeds the frag ratio it attempts to balance out the teams by swapping players around, this prevents team-stacking and balances out the skill.

I dont think i could ever go back to a regular server, having a bunch of spies and snipers on Blue in payload maps is really irritating.

still dont quite get what this CS:S beta is though

It will probably showup in the steam list of games, but pay no attention to it.. It's just 'left over' from when the beta was been used through Steam, i still have TF2 beta, CS:S beta and DOD:S Beta on my list.

I love minecraft, granted that i usually spend my time playing 'architect' rather then role-playing.. the creative mode was a breath of fresh air for what i wanted to accomplish structure wise, and the addition of new redstone blueprints (pistons and such) it's opened up a whole new avenue of creating secret doors, traps and general contraptions. If im in the zone i can get really into the creative aspect of it, i've had multiple bases setup in the past and i would usually store explosives underneath and around the bases which would be conveniently wired to an obscure pressure plate located within the compound, so if people broke into my bases they would inevitably blow themselves to pieces.

But most of the time im just in creative mode with others building.. some of the house's i've seen people build are absolutely incredible.

That was kind of how me and my clan played COD4, except on 360... and we were all so fucking good we really just ran around talked to each other. I really wish I could go back in time and start counter strike, I'm afraid to start because I'll get owned to often to learn how to play. Considered playing Americas Army, I tried, but the game play is slow and ridiculous and the people on it are dicks .

And... Uh... sorry... I'm a pretty kick ass spy. I took out 5 people in a row all pushing a payload a few days ago. That was all of them haha. I pretty much only play payload. I like king of the hill and capture, but unless your team has one or two players who know the fuck there doing it is infuriating.

I play medic, engineer, spy and heavy. getting better at snipers. only play demo man on intelligence levels. never play scout never play pyro, never play soilder.

We should totally minecraft together if anyone has a server that can handle it. I vote 3pm PST Saturday.

Yeah absolutely, a good spy can completely destroy the other team.. the only problem i have with non-class limit public servers is you often get to many of one class which creates an imbalance in the game. I mainly play Spy,Demoman,Sniper,Engineer or Medic. I use to hate the demoman but i've found the stickybombs to be incredibly effective as red defense on payload servers.. coupled with a kritzkreig you can do some serious damage. Im getting more enjoyment out of scout then in the past.. the fast-pacement of the class is fun, but they can be rather useless on payload maps.. i can't play heavy anymore as its simply too boring/easy.

i normally played on orange maps, so not many tactics going on there :D a lot of fun though

you guys have convinced me to start DLing TF2 again, we should get on a server together at some point
