‘Droogs’ always reminds me of swilow, for some reason. (Although I have no data on his tastiness 😝.)

Delectable > deliciousness

Beich's Caramels (original name of Laffy Taffy)

Everyone loves Laffy Taffy. Their taffy bars and ropes are classic candy favorites, first produced in the 1970s. Yet they weren't called Laffy Taffy at the time. Indeed, they were called Beich's Caramels, even though there was no caramel in them and they didn't taste even faintly of caramel. The name change probably made the product, since Laffy Taffy was a far more apt description. Eventually the product line sold to Nestle, where it is sold under the Wonka brand. But perhaps the most memorable part of Laffy Taffy, where it gets the Laffy name, is the joke written on the inside wrapper of each. These jokes are by children, for children, and have provided chuckles since they first appeared.

When did they start making Laffy Taffy Ropes?

The shape has evolved over the years and now the small bite-sized pieces are rectangular instead of square. Laffy Taffy is sold under the Willy Wonka brand name which was created to compliment the book and film of the same name. It wasn't until the 2000s that they came out with the long Laffy Taffy Ropes that have become very popular in a short period of time. Laffy Taffy bars have been out a bit longer and have also enjoyed success, moving the Laffy Taffy range of products into a better position for all candy lovers.
