What's up with the FB-esque "Like" system?

I noticed BL now has a "Like" /react system similar to Facebooks, where you can like or react to a person's thread or post. My question is how the hell does it work? I keep seeing all these likes and reactions but I can't figure out how to do it myself. Is it because I'm new? Do I need to make a certain number of posts or something before that function becomes available to me? If anyone can please help me out I'd be much obliged! Also, it's 50 posts to be able to become a blue lighter right? I hate being a green lighter ?

Yeah guys, I can't see that option ? That's why I was wondering if you have to become a Bluelighter in order for it to become available to see/use. I may be retarded from this damn Gabapentin brain damage but not quite retarded enough to miss a Like button in plain view ?
