Whats the big dealio with this Mice Pace caper? [aka the myspace thread]

No doubt, the amount of information they glean from all the applications you add. Goldmine. Still, it lets me give my friends virtual baked goods so it must be worth it :)

What?? I LOVE virtual baked goods. *adds virtual bakery* - As for data mining, well, i'm not hugely concerned that facebook (and its affiliates) knows that i love virtual baked goods, or that i support breast cancer research. :) I added the "my books" application - the selection of books i've read are so varied, that anyone trying to mine data from that will only come off with the impression that i'm a random. ;)

^^^Nah, the data mining this is more that you have to give it your real name and pertinent details about your actual real life if you really actually wanna catch up with people from your past - and then when you get the apps, it passes those on to 3rd parties (I'm assuming).....I am happy to announce that I got over my momentary weakness and deleted my facebook account tonight. Even though myspace is ugly and non-user friendly, it isn't such a demanding bitch as facebook is..

In.....Hail Ants....

Still aint got ether.

Also I still aint got either a piece of origami rodents,
an' facebook sounds like a cum-shot in a library.

But I hope it's all workin' out'f'y'all...

N.B.: Can any lend me $12 an' open a bottl-o.
My w(if)e suddenly become an alko an' keeps drainin' the REAL main-vein....

So,
I won' be able to sleep.
Maybe I'll eat a hand-full of those xanax, an' that....

PEACE

I'm not sure if I'll stay much longer on facebook. Most of the people I have lost touch with throughout life, I lost touch with for a reason.

I changed my screen name from my full name to my nickname and surname initials on facebook after a freaky ex-boyfriend found me. I also changed my profile picture to my eyes only.

There are certain people i wouldn't mind being seen by, unfortunately i've moved around so much, there are a couple of people that i wouldn't mind catching up with from my past. Having said that, since i've changed my name, only one person has added me as a friend, and they found me through one of my friend's pages. :) It's amazing, though, how quickly some of my friends, who joined facebook after me, have grown their friends base. I think i have only 28 friends (and 3 of those people are my cousins).

That's exactly why I prefer myspace - I enjoy getting to know fresh new people. I have made some great friends from there. people of whom I actually would love to meet one day.

If I have cut someone from my life or lost touch there is usually a good reason.

Myspace is far more suitable for me by far. As boring as it has become, I still can't see face book being any more interesting.

Well said ^

I cannot come to terms with legitimate full names on website a la facebook

ASIO much?

facebook seems to be requesting more personal details by the day. it's quite boring too seeing you can only check friends out. what's with those gifts too? do people actually waste us$1 to put a graphic on a friends page? as much as myspace is an emo's wet dream i'm starting to prefer it (i haven't managed to have chats with my fav porno star on facebook ;)).

Define depressing:

*When you've logged in to Facebook for the third time in a day.

It's gotten bad...

I have been having a running stand off with one of my ex girlfriends on facebook for months now. We have a number of friends in common and are in our high school reunion group. But we have yet to message each other or add to friends.
The same thing happened on myspace also.

Hehehe she is a mess

:D

lol, if depression is 3 times a day, i need extreme help

i check whenever i get on my PC at home, not at work...

i heart poker!

i'd been trying for years to get in contact with an old best friend but the net was no help until facebook came along. after accepting me, browsing her page i noticed she was now friends with an ex of mine, best friends you could say, which was a shock because the said ex fucked my life up bigtime and my "friend" knew this. everytime i check her page the friendblock app has the ex and my photos together, which reminds me of that seriously shit time in my life and has finally made me realise that the old friend who i loved but was occasionally a bitch is in fact a bitch.

thanks facebook. years trying to track her down and within a week deciding i don't want to know her anyway. cool.

^ Even more reason why I stand by my ground that myspace is better because you meet new people.

Seriously guys, move on into the future instead of thinking about the past, and the people in your past. Life is too short to be wasting time on people who dropped out of your life anyways. If they were an arsehole to you back then, then they don't change.

I found someone on Facebook last night who, through minor actions of his own, changed my life profoundly. I'd lost touch so it was good. The end.

Ive found the opposite is true.
1. Goto party
2. Meet people
3. Later, add people on facebook, comment of stupid drunk photos, etc
4. Get general event invite from new people to more parties
5. Rinse + Repeat

Historically i might meet some cool people but fall out of touch with them because its a bit too forward to email/txt after a brief but good chat. Its not that fwd to invite them as a facebook friend and later be invited to an event.

On myspace you are more likely to have some 12yo retard from Utah try to be your friend but i guess thats what you have to expect from not actually socialising.

Can you even change the background color of a face book?

Also; how the fuck do you find people

i know my buddy's email addresses

and when i search for it

facebook be all like "not found in your network"

or something?
