What's the best ADD/ADHD medicine?

^ well I'm on 1mg of Klonopin 3 times a day for my anxiety (prescribed)

But what I'm guessing what she meant that maybe my ADD is causing my anxiety attacks, and that a Adderall would help them out?

ADD does not often cause panic attacks (in fact, there's no clear mechanism through which it would).

ebola

So, I've been on vyvanse for 6 years. Finally diagnosed with ADD as an adult- didn't know that could even be.
It truly changed my life. Im a lot more focused and less labile in my emotions when it comes to not being able to concentrate. I can concentrate! I still get some rando symptoms like night time doing 33 things at once (the med wears off at some time, people.)
Side effects? None but dry mouth. Spearmint gum is my bff.
I used to abuse opiates. My psychiatrist said this is un-abusable. Frankly, I didn't even want to try. Its just my buddy. My right hand to keep me functional.
Biggest downside: no generic out yet. No insurance, its about $260/30 pills. Yikes. My insurance required a 2-step approval to be sent from my doc just to verify my doc wanted THIS med and no other. Pain in thebutt, but i get it for $2.90/bottle. Nothing beats vyvanse in my opinion.

It's different for everyone, and just as a disclaimer I've read no studies to back this up, but I think I've heard the most positive stories about Adderall and Vyvanse.

For me, modafinil works the best, although that's an odd choice. Nothing works as well for me as learning good time management techniques, a high protein diet, good sleep hygeine & melatonin, and meditation, though.

for me it was a toss of a coin to answer a question like this.. at one time it was adderall 30mgs 3×Dly. I t was fantastic! the first week was kinds bs due the the panic attacks i was having..went away once i knew what to expect. The downside was i was begging a addiction to it... without it i was dull, then with out fail i would sleep for about 6hrs a day(naps) Im now on Ritalin 20mgs 3x dly. Better for the following(to me); less heart pulps.. is pretty much as good as Adderall at my dose, and its safe enough should i take a extra half.. i added two formulas of Welbutrin..300mgs sr in the am..then 150mgs sr in the middle to late afternoon. with these to on board it really helps me to maintain and not crash so hard if at all. Vyvanse did zero for me
. Ritalin sr was also to weak, and i was at max does..The others ive tried, but im sticking with Ritalin 60mgs a dly to at least to the start of next month...im pretty sure ill be put on the 20mg or 30mg Dpatch.. have heard nothing but good things. Hope all of you are a Well!

Does anyone here can help me? it's been a while since I was diagnosed with mild adhd, though its mild, for me it's still a problem that should be taken serious. Now my problem is my family wont be able to suffice my medication and I know that since our financial life is not stable. Does anybody knows here an organization specifically a group that actively helping those adhd people who cannot support themselves in treatment?> If you guys knows any, pls tell me. thanks and God bless.

There are actually lot of adhd medicines that are available right now just like the following; but of course to seek an advice first to a specialist is the best thing to do before taking up any of these medicine. To have a specialist is a good start for treatment. It is better so that there could be someone who can advice what's the best thing to do and what's the best medicine to take..
  • Adderall XR (amphetamine)
  • Concerta (methylphenidate)
  • Dexedrine (amphetamine)
  • Evekeo (amphetamine)
  • Focalin XR (methylphenidate)
  • Quillivant XR (methylphenidate)
  • Ritalin (methylphenidate)
  • Strattera (atomoxetine hydrochloride)

Still wonder about pemoline, it's off-market almost everywhere but apparently still used in Japan, and is said to behave different than either amphetamine or methylphenidate, with less tolerance issues, minimal sympathomimetic side effects and the magnesium salt having some nootropic properties (ok, that might just be a matter of interpretation, as all ADHD drugs are used as 'study aids'). It has an interesting structure, with the closest known drugs being aminorex and 4-mar - the latter also being a rare occurrence these days and is said to have some special qualities. Urban myth or not?

I am diagnosed with adult ADD and initially got Concerta 18mg, then 36mg but had pronounced side effects, physical stimulation, strong sense of tension and forced focus.. d-amphetamine is better, yet worse when it comes to hangover / problems to get up in the morning, sometimes it is worse than other times.. MPH in contrast has a strong rebound which the amph lacks. Elvanse/Lisdexamph is mostly the same but with a different pharmacokinetic profile, indeed causes less hangover but it's hard to predict, on some days I am fine with one 20mg in the morning, other days I feel like I need three during the day only to realize that two would have been enough. So I am taking 20-40mg/d now.

Yeah, bupropion. A friend was on that for ADHD too and found it a good aid, yet she was taking it alongside crazy dosages of d-amph. I was on it myself but before the ADD diagnosis, yet I found it to rather increase restlessness.

Never tried strattera (atomoxetine) but the close cousin reboxetine, which has in the meantime been withdrawn from market as useless, which is exactly what it was. Created some false energy, worsened impulsivity, anxiety and tension and raised heartbeat but nothing usable. Atomoxetine has been found to be a NMDA antagonist next to its NRI properties, I can well imagine that any benefit some get from it might come from that route..

Atomoxetine is useless too in my opinion...

Pemoline analogues (or really, aminorex analogs) are available on the clearnet and are pretty effective. The don't differ that much from amphetamines in terms of MOA, though its hard to find ec50s/ic50s on them...

Was only ever prescribed Ritalin I.R. as a kid and now Concerta(Ritalin X.R.) as an adult. However, I've also tried Adderall, cocaine, cr@ck, modafinil, amfonelic acid, ethylphenidate, and 3-FPM. Honestly out of all of them, 3-FPM treated my ADD the smoothest at <100 mg dosages when I was using it. Concerta is my second favorite for purely medicinal use, but the comedown can be brutal, even with its weird triphasic release mechanism. I asked to be put on name brand C0ncerta in the hopes that the knockoff brands had a less smooth release mechanism that was allowing the harsh comedowns to hit me, but methylphenidate in any form seems to have a terrible comedown ime.

I don't take stimulants daily anymore except caffeine, as they make me look like a sloth when I decide to take days off from them. Modafinil is a good stimulant to have around if you want to take a break from NDRI's/NDRA's, but it only keeps you awake with a very slight uptick in motivation and focus; it also takes a long time to wear off. There's also some speculation that it's a GABA-a antagonist, so keep that in mind if you're using benzos daily or tapering off of any GABA-a agonist.

I'm not advocating for any of the above, instead I'm merely sharing my experience and some informatioin about the more exotic stimulants.

If you really want to know the best ADHD medication, I suggest you go to a specialist that Examines ADHD people just like for instance the adhdcentre.co.uk which happens to help those people with ADHD, So check it out. Thanks.

yes, That's actually true. If you really want to know the best ADHD medication, well you should consult to a specialist, not from anyone who just randomly type. Of course an advice from expert is still the best.

I'd say pot is the best thing for add/ADHD.everykid hates their pills and they don't really help them.but once they stop getting prescribed them and they start smoking pot they balance out a lot more.ive seen this numerous times.
