What will win the god wars? Faith, Fantasy, Facts, or God?

We are all either using religious or secular moral codes to live by; based on faith, fantasy, facts, or our imagined gods?

As we live and learn, we decide which of the above should take first place as reality and we decide to be believers in a supernatural or fantasy-based god or not.

Religion Has No Earthly Purpose, So Why Do We Cling to It? | Reza Aslan - YouTube

We only have mythos and logos to answer the question, is God real?

Books of wisdom, the bible and Qur’an being pathetic late commers, ask us to come and reason about God, yet most come to do long winded, bla bla bla posts, and quote others, and thus do not learn how to reason.

Reason has lost, but what do you think will win the God war? Faith, fantasy, facts, or our imagined Gods?

I say my God. I am.

Fact wins over fiction in civilized society. The others are important for literature and culture

I don't know if anything is entirely secular because something secular could have a religious origin. I think it's kind of arbitrary to call things secular but that's my opinion. Whenever I hear that term it seems to be a religious individual referring to the outside world and then the listener has to rely on the speakers' idea or knowledge of what secular actually means. I've learned that people don't know everything

For me I was born not being religious. I acknowledge magic and things of that ilk but it's only due to self-experience. It's not something I believe in. I find it weird how people can develop these ideas you talk about, but I can't judge them even if I don't understand it

The answer is that it doesn't matter. At least in my opinion

There's no reasoning with people who try to reason with religion. They're fighting with themselves

Let's suppose there is a war happening right now. Wouldn't knowledge of it make you a winner?
I say my God. I am.

I meant moral reasoning, like using moral judgement in different circumstances. I'm not talking about logic. I wouldn't assume that any or most people use logic. I myself can't claim to be a logical thinker, for example. I'm more of a reductionist and try to get the meaning behind a text rather than figuring out why or who it was written for

I don't know what you mean above with your statement about women and homosexuals. If a region of the world mistreats others, I don't know what that has to do with what's stated by a religion. That's a different topic though

EDIT: Morality for me is based on what I've learned academically. It isn't based on any particular cultural norm

Moral reasoning is logical reasoning.

Your academic side and your substance dualism side are in conflict.

As to the women and gays in your family and lack of empathy.

Insert gays and women harmed by homophobic and misogynous religions to this quote. You should get an idea of what you should be doing with the homophobic and misogynous mainstream religions if you live by the golden rule.

Please get back to me with your conclusion.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I don't agree with dualism. I was saying that propaganda is responsible for crime first, and that can be separate from religious texts. I'm only concerned with texts anyway. I'm not an anthropologist

That last was not dualistic. It was humanistic.

This is why I mostly ignore you. I have a hard time with your skitzo style.

I like one of you though.

I never said I agreed with duality though, so I don't know what you mean. Isn't evil another side of good, like the earth is another side of Hel? I mean, I don't know. After a while it gets philosophical. I see evil as the other side of a coin, not the same side with dualistic properties

Dualism was only at issue in substance dualism.

Did you view the link in the O.P.?

You do not recognize evil as you ignore questions on it and take off all over the place.

Hey there, schizo style has been used by a lot of great people. If you could understand how fractured the mind is you would be like

I watched the beginning and I'll watch the rest later. I already don't agree with/identify with what this guy is saying though, so I doubt you want to read my perspective

I definitely have experienced evil and it's easy to recognize, like a wretched odor. Etc ;)

Who hasn't?

You do not seem to appreciate the duality part of odors, --- that speak to warnings to the mind, --- in this case.

Dualism should be easy for a skitzo.

It would not surprise me to see that you are in the two or three percent who are immune to substance dualism.

I just see entities as what they are. They're like a force of nature. While astral travelling I've seen where a demon lives with his daughter, a shapeshifter; she appeared as a tall, thin beautiful woman but when she looked in a mirror in the house her figure was grotesque with strangely long fingers and nails and a sort of grimacing face with sharp teeth hanging down from her lips. It looked like a forest in a part of the world except without any blemishes

I appreciate that there are mind tricks but a mind trick will make you doubt, I think (never had one) and may involve the psyche. When demons appear it's a psychic experience. And I use psychic in the sense of surreal or what some people call paranormal. Although that word is too weird for me to get a hold of. I try to keep it simple

EDIT: OK I finished the rest of the video and it's nonsense to me. People throw all kinds of ideas out there, professors whatever. It doesn't seem to address the issue of societies or individuals (maybe both) and the attraction to religion. It also talks about things I don't believe in so it's sort of alienating to listen to. There you go
