binge watching mr. robot and this song stuck out to me

the moth don't care when he sees the flame
he might get burned but he's in the game
and once he's in, he can't go back.
he'll beat his wings until they go black
no the moth don't care when he sees the flame

whenever I hear the moth analogy, I think of the audioslave song, and the feeling of being clean and fresh out of rehab for the first time. The feeling of being free from the chemical flame.

RIP Cornell

Unified theory
A narrow piece for me, left to show
Explaining yesterday, years ago
When I drank holy water straight
Instead of running, here I stand
The clues are hovering, right above my head
This day is over rated now that I'm awake
I don't know what to do, to make me feel better
When I drink holy water straight
To close, don't, the rest could heal
To close, no, the rest could heal
This day is over rated, now that I'm awake
I don't know what to do to make me feel better
I don't know what to do
Well, I drink holy water straight
Or when?
On this very day
This narrow piece of me, forgets you care
Are you the optimist that I tried to help
This day is over rated, now that I'm awake
I don't know what to do, to make me feel better
Well, I drink holy water straight
Or when?

really digging the low-fi, down-tempo beats right now. I forget what this genre is called, but I like it.

while I powder my nose
he will powders his guns
and if I try to get close
he is already gone

I don't know where he's going
I don't know where he's been
he is restless at night
he has horrible dreams

so we lay in the dark
with nothing to say
just the beating of hearts,
like two drums in the grey

I don't know what we are doing
I don't know what we've done
but the fire is coming
so I think we should run, run, run.....

That's pretty dope. The lyrics are supposed to be indiscernible?
I'm not entirely sure, as I'm somewhat new to the genre as a whole, and unfamiliar with the artist in particular, but my guess is probably, at least to a degree. They do a lot of taking popular or even super indie unheard of songs, chopping the vocal line up, slowing it waaaaaay down, then adding a beat. I'm not sure, some of the vocals could even be self-recorded and then highly edited(mostly slowed with tons of reverb).

I kind of like it that I can't understand them, but I feel like I know exactly what the artist is feeling.
I know one of the lines is "part of me..." with variations it sounds like.

I had the thought that the vocals sounded like antony and the Johnsons but wasn't sure

it is indeed! that was the word. Some call it lo-fi hip hop as well. I think vaporwave may be a subset of lofi hip hop maybe?

Yeah a subset, vaporwave is more japanese remixes, lo fi is slow hip hop. both use a similar concept art of anime aesthetics, but low fi is darker colors and vaporwave is pink, light blue, bright stuff
