What happens to unposted draft threads ...? Can they be found after more than a few hours?

Hey, just wondering ... can't find my drafts.

Well, not after a few hours, anyway.

Do you have to post a draft within a certain time, or am I just being dumb assed and there's some very obvious "drafts" link somewhere on the site?

Did you start writing a response in the thread itself? If I start a message, but dont finish it, what I had typed in before getting out of the thread to find some specific information, everything I had typed in before leaving the thread will still be present in the text box at the bottom of the thread. It could be due to the limited functionality of the unregistered burner phone I use to cruise BL, but its definitely worth checking there.

I just got out of this thread, clicked on two different threads away from this one, came back and found everything I had already typed without posting it was still there.

I hope this helps!

I signed out of BL briefly and the message I had typed in but not posted was still present when I logged back in and opened this thread.

Aye, it'll work for a bit ... but not for days.

Am bit depressed because my Word broke and I can't stand Google Docs so the other day I started drafting my "porn article" (long story) on BL ... but it seems to have disappeared.

Never mind, I'll just draft it again in an email and email it to myself ....

I thought it saved it indefinitely, but perhaps I'm wrong and it eventually gives up on drafts after a set amount of time. I will admit, I've not seen any setting I can adjust for that. I have found where I can adjust how frequently it saves the draft (brought it down to like every 20-30sec), but I didn't see how long it should retain a draft.

As an alternative, we have enabled the ability to send a PM to nobody. This, in effect, creates a PM convo with only YOU in it. And, you'd have the ability to quote (maybe edit? I don't recall) and modify as you shape your draft. ;)

According to the docs, they are saved in the _drafts table and purge every 24 hours. Appears you can adjust here -

ACP -> Setup -> Options -> Messages, change the setting, "Store drafts for X hours"

According to the docs, they are saved in the _drafts table and purge every 24 hours.

And this answers why I had the ACP open on a tab from 2h ago and forgot why.....because I was going to go find that setting. Well done, my man!

And with that....no real reason to change from 30sec saves and a 24h window, is there? Not when we have the self-PM available for draft work? ;)

Download openoffice. It's a free and fairly decent office suite.
