I was refused anti-anxiety drugs when I had literally crippling anxiety and panic attacks, thanks to the people abusing them and pushing them to teenagers on the streets.
My general practitioners have also outright refused to consider other angles of treatment for me - stubbornly refusing tests and shit wherever, claiming everything going on with me to be psychosomatic.

Sadly I can't just take someone else's lack of delusions and jam it in my brain. I don't have that luxury like some people do.It's about having a point of view that someone without mental illness would say is far enough from reasonable to be true. I'd trust your caretakers on this one. Recovery is not easy, but it can take the edge off to completely confide in your treatment team of what you experience.
